The Executive Summary
The purpose of this plan is to secure loans for our upcoming expansion while establishing the expected financial statements for the upcoming three-year period. We have created a reputable business built on a successful business plan model. At the end of the three-year period, we will be able to invest the majority of the money needed for the proposed expansion.
Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop provides the finest detailing service in town. We pride ourselves in the quality of our service. The following plan demonstrates the strategic tactics used to plan for our upcoming success. As a small business, we have grown to build a small niche of loyal cliental with our loyalty programs. Our focus is on our customers we provide the highest quality of service to encourage repeat business.

Here at Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop our goal is to become the locally trusted car wash and detail shop. We are building a reputation for offering the highest quality of services and using only premium products on our clients fragile luxury automobiles.
The global economy has been steadily recovering from the major recession of 2008. There has been a lot of growths both domestically and abroad. Our dollar is gaining its strength as our unemployment rates dwindle back to normal. The economy in our local area is thriving. Our community is enjoying a surplus in the economy caused by the many successful medium sized business start-ups. Recently the local call center has expanded and has almost tripled its employees. The neighbourhood immediately surrounding Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop is described as an upper-class, wealthy and affluent area of town. There is a lot of opportunities for our business to be successful.
Trends in the External Environment
There are numerous environmentally sustainable trends followed by the development of municipal bylaws that have banned the use of municipal water during peak periods for washing cars in driveways. We are not affected by this bylaw due to the nature of our business and our keep water sustainability efforts. This trend will increase our profits and create a larger gap of customer needs for us to fill.
Another trend that is in our benefit is an increase in the amount of working class families within the area. Though they are not within our targeted bracket of cliental, they are in need of exterior automobile cleaning more than any other demographic group. Working class families with young children who eat and drink in the car, or experience accidents of any kind are very likely to need stain and odor removal services.
There are plans to road reconstruction for major roads nearby starting this summer and completed the following summer. The construction will increase traffic passing by our location and increase our visibility within the community.

The key differentiator for Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop is our customer orientated approach towards success. Our friendly smiles and the excellent service we provide have become our trademarks. Our branding, communication, sales, marketing and advertising approach reflects our focus on customer service. Our goal is to build a clientele of loyal repeat customer that become friends of Andre. We depend on the word of mouth and referrals within the community.
Services
Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop three services to its customers:
- Car washing (exterior)
- The exterior of the vehicle will be washed then have the scratches removed, then polished to a brilliant finish. The tires will be restored to a like new condition.
- Car cleaning (interior)
- The interior of the vehicle will be exceptionally cleaned by first vacuuming, then spot treating and finally shampooed, steamed and deep cleaned.
- Car detailing
Marketing Strategy
The key to our marketing strategy is repeat business. We strive to build relationships with our clientele and reward our customers for coming back. Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop customer loyalty card give our clients points that accumulate for every dollar they spend; customers also receive points for their referrals. Once a customer’s loyalty card reaches 10,000 points they can cash in their points for a premium package or continue to save their loyalty points. Our location is strategic for many of our customers repeat business. The tickets our customers use to display for their service are referral cards as well. On the back of the card, the referral details are listed. For every new client, our customers refer they receive points on their loyalty card and the new customer receives 30% discount. The customer who made the referral receives a substantial amount of loyalty points in exchange for their referral. There is no cash trade in value, but unofficially the points they receive carries a value of $30. The majority of our marketing is done using our customer loyalty points program, our referral program and our reputation for offering the best quality of service.
Our location found near our customers places of employment. This strategic location makes it easy for many of our customers to drop their vehicle off before work. We offer monthly packages that ensure that our premium customers not only have a safe and secure place to park, but they return to find their luxury automobile in pristine condition.
We have also left posters advertising our services at both the courthouse and the hospitals staff lunch areas advertising our services. Additionally we sponsor a local youth soccer team. In exchange for our sponsorship, our logo is on the shoulders of our young cardinal’s jerseys and the large fence sign near the far side of the fence.
Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop is conveniently located at 99 Main St. West. Our location is within a half-kilometer of both the courthouse and hospital where many of our clients work. Across the street from Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop is an excellent dinner where many of our customers enjoy their lunch. Our layout is simple and resembles a small crescent with our shop in the center and an abundant of parking available for our clients in the back. Many of our clients purchase monthly packages to enjoy our location and parking services alone.
Competitor Analysis
Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop is the only premium car wash and detailing service in town. There are three local gas stations that operate car wash services all three are automatic car washes. We do not consider these competitors to be in direct competition. Our clients are seeking quality services. These indirect competitors are seeking large volumes of customers rather than our premium niche of cliental. Two of the automatic self-wash stations are near the highway exit and are almost 15 miles away, the other is about 5 miles away.
Description of Management
Andre’s Car Wash and Detail Shop is managed by Andre Jamison and family. Andre has been providing similar services for over 15 years before starting his own business. Andre’s mother Janice Jamison will provide services as the company’s accountant.
Plan of Operation
The day to day activities, location, equipment, people and surrounding environment are all included in the plan of operations.
Equipment. The equipment we need includes: high pressure washer, low pressure washer, steamer, buffers, polishers, cleaning and deodorizing equipment, toreador air purging industrial vacuum, ozone generator, tools, brushes, towels, applicators
Supplies. Speciality Products and supplies that we use are: paint chip repair products, plastic trim restoration supplies, glass repair supplies, vinyl and leather repair products, odor removal supplies, window tinting supplies
Employees. Including Andre our owner, we employ three full-time staff and two part-time employees. Our pay is determined by position and experience and includes the end of the season bonus structure.
Day to day Activities. Our customer's schedules determine our day to day routine. The majority of our services will be seasonal with a few parking spaces being rented out during the winter months to some of our most loyal customers and friends. During the warm months, we will be opening our doors at 6 a.m. in order to accommodate of customers” work schedules. Our receptionist is responsible for both opening and closing the front office. The hospital has a shift change at 6:30 a.m. Our peak hour is expected at around 8: a.m. Our business day ends at 7 p.m. during our peak season. During the afternoon is when the most of the work is done by Andre and his co-worker.
A Customers Eye of View. A customer parks their vehicles in the parking lot then visit the office where they are greeted, served and pay. They receive a ticket to place in their dash that describes the service they want. Monthly premium customers receive a ticket to hang display their mirror. While our customer goes to work we perform the service described on their ticket. Our customers return to find their vehicle well cleaned and maintained as they requested.

Loan or Investment Proposal
We are looking to secure a loan in order to expand into a nearby city in the third year. We have demonstrated the success of our business model and wish to apply it towards expansion. We have done a great deal of research into finding a very strategic location and are in the process of networking our connections to prepare for the new location. We plan to have a base of customers prior to opening the doors at our second outlet. Our financial records above have demonstrated our ability to repay our loans. We also have an abundance of assets to be used to secure a loan if that is in our best interest. I am looking to meet with a financial strategist in order to discuss our options in order to begin to plan for the next three years.
Conclusion
The business plan creates a solid strategy for success. Our business is set to build a reputable foundation of clients. Our commitment to quality is our key to becoming our customer’s loyalty. As a small business, we are advantages to want only a handful of loyal customers who are seeking a superior service and attention to detail.
