Scenario
A woman cried for help but not even a single soul came out of their comfort chambers to help her out until when the police siren was heard from afar. Immediately the neighborhood was flooded by people ready to catch and punish the robbers. None stirred when they heard gunshots instead they went ahead and caught the thugs and beat them up until they were half dead.
Human beings receptivity to emergency depends on numbers. A number of people will most likely rescue a victim than when a single person is left to witness the emergence.
Observation
People respect the power of numbers.
Courage is objective and subject to support
It is evident that no one can do something courageous without having a plan in mind. For instance, people cannot do outrageous things without a purpose. The aspect of having fun is not an objective when conducting activities that only need courage. From the definition, courage is that ability to do things than not everyone can do. Therefore, courage is relative to support. One needs support in order to do what is extra ordinary. From the case above, people came out to rescue the victims because they had each other for support and most likely the alarm from the siren gave them the glimmer of hope. Thus, without having an objective and getting support, courage can easily falter away. As humans, we need that support however little it is when combined with ones’ objective they can do even the unimaginable.
No human enjoys being hurt
We are conscious about our well-being and that of our families. We cannot do things conscious of their bad implications to us. We tend to shy away from violent activities because we know the effect of violence. This is because getting hurt means getting pain and pain is nasty. Therefore, people will always try to avoid any activities that would cause them harm. On the other hand, people enjoy fun activities those that are 100 percent assured to be devoid of harm. Thus, it is in human to hate suffrage and embrace joy. From our case above, no one would wish to get hurt in the event of helping another one. Mind you, if this was a cry for joy, in a split second the neighborhood would have been full to capacity with beaming faces. Thus response to any emergencies that might inflict any harm to people is always treated consciously and slowly.
