Discrimination and prejudice are some of the major social challenges many people experience in the current generation. The employment industry is one of the social facets that is characterized by incidences of discrimination, inequality and incidences of bias judgment; despite the fact that many activists, employers and labor Unions have implemented initiatives geared towards the reduction of discrimination, little has been achieved. This has enabled the company to undertake certain incidences of discrimination against its employees. The article also indicates that Wal-Mart compels its employees to work off the docks without pay. The concept of working off the docks basically involves subjecting employee to work over-time, while not providing them with any over-time payments. The other incident of discrimination is indicated by the disparity between the company’s high profit that have even documents in the Fortune magazine and the extremely low wages offered to its employees.
