Sports have an elemental role in developing the personality of students physically, socially and mentally. Sporting activities have many benefits including maintenance of healthy weight necessary for daily life activities. Sports also prevent obesity, heart diseases and diabetes to improve the psychological and moral state, which help to relieve depression, psychological problems and anxiety. Sport is one of the activities that students willingly accept and take part. Moreover, many students enjoy undertaking these sporting activities. Sport are an elemental factor in forming integrated personalities for students through different programs aiming at working on different programs of rehabilitating, processing and preparing the behavior of students. Exercise is very significant in the development of children and youth. The body is in the process of continual growth. As said, a sound mind is a sound body. The body requires sporting activities to keep fit the bones and muscles. Moreover, sporting activities enhance and keep fit other organs of the body including vital organs like the lungs. Sporting activities also ensure that these organs grow properly and naturally. Additionally, sporting activities build personal sound. Studies show that the kinetic gaming organization promotes growth among children and young people in terms of psychological, mental and physical health to increase self-esteem, self-confidence and sense of accomplishment. Physical activity is one of the most elemental factors that help students to increase their academic success. Physical activity is an important factor in the activation and intellectual production of humans. Studies indicate that students who are physically fit posses high recall of their studies and lessons regularly and score higher marks in examinations compared to students who are not physically fit ( Reynolds, 2013). Arnold is an example of a successful student. He was a good basketball player at Reardan School. Moreover, he was smart and scored high marks and results in class (Alexie, 2007. p 214). He was an elemental player of the school team. His success in academics is attributed to his physical fitness. Another example of such a student is Jim Thorpe. He was an American athlete descending from the Native Americans. Thorme is a skilled athlete with success in the modern sports that have seen him gain several Olympic gold medals; pentathlon and decathlon (Encyclopedia of World Biography, 2011).
Physical activity helps students to create a good social relationship. Athletes have leadership qualities and abilities to create fast social relationships with others. Additionally, they are characterized by their attributes of records of intellectual maturity and social and mental serenity and self-confidence. Students with high levels of fitness increase their self-confidence and have the psychological stability, which enables them enjoy their time with themselves and others. Moreover, they succeed in making new friendships and strengthening their relationships with old friends, which confirms the importance of sport for students in schools. For instance, when Arnold left Spokane reservation, he gained many benefits. For example, he became an athlete, gained multiple social relationships, and gained respect from the coach (Alexie, 2007. p 149). .
The exercise translates to many benefits related to physical, mental and social developments of students. Physical activity helps children and young people to achieve consistency and integrity to build bones, muscles and joints, which help to control body weight and get rid of the excessive body weight that can cause problems. Additionally, physical activity raises the efficiency and functions of the hearts and lungs. The practice of motor activities increases the students’ abilities to learn by realizing the effects of their mental abilities. Studies point to the fact that students participating in school sports competitions are less likely to show unhealthy habits like smoking or abusing drugs. Moreover, they have more opportunities than the physically unfit to continue studying and achieve academic excellence, which enables them attain higher academic levels. The role of physical activity in the development of personal dimensions of young people surfaces in the effective protection from psychological and social unrest (Reynolds, 2013)..

Many people have encouraged schools and other institutions to promote sporting activities in their institutional programs because they not only increase the academic excellence of the students, but also increase their social relationships and interactions. Physical activity enables individuals to avoid risks of heart diseases, obesity or diabetes. Physical activity also promotes well-being of individuals because it directly affects and keeps fit, vital organs of the body including the lungs and the heart. It is important and relevant that many institutions have come up with interschool competitions to promote social interactions of their students in various institutions and levels of life. Therefore, physical activity qualifies as an elemental factor with significant influence on people, especially students. People engage in different physical activities to promote their excellence and facilitate their well being and fitness.
