Essay
Childhood is one of the best human periods. It is the time when we feel careless about our life and believe our lives to our parents. Every generation feels differently about the youth and children. There is generation gap. Older people can’t understand younger people. It comes because of the development of the humankind. The world constantly develops: culture, politics, economics, religion, techniques, science etc. People develop with them. Older people have some difficulties with the new gadgets. They don’t understand new fashion styles. The 20th century had so many changes and events, that lots of generation feels shocked about them. People began to wear short clothes instead of the long one.
According to Philippe Aries (1962), in the Ancient Period the children became adults very fast and there was no childhood in the Medieval world. People were babies (till 7 years old) or adults (from 7 years old). He indicates that children were abused by early industrialists. Bob Corbett (1985) calls children “victims of a certain social decision”. They really are the victims. Every generation wants their children to live better life. Their children have more strict obligations but they live in more comfortable conditions. They have different gadgets, can get good free education, can travel and to choose what to do, so they have more opportunities.
Nowadays, there are the laws that respect childhood and youth and forbade the kids to work hard. The adults should respect the childhood and don’t take it away from the kids. Children must study and enjoy their childhood but not to live in the past. They are the future of the planet.
