Chief Executive Officer
LOT Polish Airlines S.A.

Dear Mr. Sebastian Mikosz,
With reference to your advertisement on Pilot Career Centre website, I am interested in applying for the position of a Pilot in command.
I am thirty four years old and I am currently working as a junior co-pilot in Lufthansa German Airlines and therefore I have experience working with personnel. My responsibilities included making calculations and monitoring the atmospheric condition as well as calculating the plane’s distance abilities according to the weight of the fuel, cargo and passengers. I have a Master degree in English awarded by Glasgow University in 2007. I also completed a certificate in Calculus and Advanced Algebra to sharpen my skills. This autumn I am going to take an extra course in Atmospheric Science in order to be competent in all spheres of managing and controlling the plane. Also, I am attending a private school in order to obtain a certificate, proving my knowledge of Polish at Preston Teacher Training College. I consider myself to be a reliable and enthusiastic worker. Therefore, I am a good, careful and concentrated pilot driver. I am described by the deputy director of Lufthansa as punctual, hard-working and responsible pilot, who has an ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging weather conditions. I enjoy working with personnel and have good organizational and teamwork skills.
Since the job of a pilot claims for perfect written and oral skills, I believe that I am the best candidate for this position. The standard way of thinking about piloting, for the first sight does not include such a considerable skill as writing. My whole life I have heard it said that all I need was basic skill of arithmetic and patience. Although I should know better by now, the ability to write well-developed and clear reports after landing and the instructions for the co-pilots is a crucial skill which cannot be developed, it is a kind of talent. The pilot’s job includes also working on specific problems which can appear during the flight or landing. The pilot’s responsibility is to describe the following issues in his logbooks or reports in order to avoid catastrophe. The logbooks and reports are later on carefully checked and the data is analyzed. The following regulation is quite beneficial to society as it helps to improve future air safety (Saunders, 2016). In order to be a proficient writer I have passed lots of writing tests online, moreover I have experience of writing these important and sometimes crucial reports under common control of the pilot in command. Therefore, employment in LOT Polish Airlines particularly appeals to me.
I enclose a reference from my present employer. I would be very grateful if you consider my application and give me the amazing opportunity to work in a professional and well-known company all over the world. I am available for the interview on Tuesdays and Fridays. If I am the right person for this position I would like to indicate that I have no other commitments and would be available to work in fourteen days on your approval. I may be contacted at the above address or by telephone on 7738767894. I look forward to receiving a reply in due course.
