The personality trait that tends to irritate me is that of perception, and it is under the Meyer-Briggs personality type indicator. I find it uncomfortable working with someone who can easily be influenced to change their minds when the going gets tough (Bayne,82). Introversion is a personality trait that is found to be irritating to a majority of people. The basis behind it being uncomfortable is the fact that an individual is never willing to share their troubles and blocking everyone around them from the internal beliefs and ideas. As a way of improving one's personality, simple measures like understanding the people you deal with on a daily basis would help. This would ensure that friction is reduced in the relationship.
In a comparison of the Big Five Model to the Meyer-Briggs personality indicator, the latter stands out as superior. This is based under the notion that it offers more personality options. It sounds more logical to be able to mix two personality traits rather than simply sticking to one as portrayed under the Big Five Model of Personality.
Inability to clearly communicate can be a great source of stress in an organization setting. Unclear communication gives room for misinterpretation, errors and uncertainty. The best way to reduce stress within an organization would be implementing measures that would ensure that communication is improved (Bayne,43). Proper communication paves the way for clarity of goals and lesser room for misinterpretation and error.
There are many components that come into play to ensure that an employee can perform. Mental ability is surely the most important being that it guides other elements including emotional intelligence. Compelling recruits to take an IQ test would be appropriate being that it can be a predictor of future performance.
When it comes to perceptions, it is never an easy task knowing if you are right or wrong. For a better understanding of the reality, it only makes sense if logic is incorporated. Solely relying on beliefs and perceptions in reality fails to bit logic.
First impressions are known to have a lasting feel to them. As much as stereotyping and judge can be bad, they give a basis from which we can start understanding an individual and choosing how to relate to them. Stereotyping and judging can work negatively if one fails to further their understanding of the people they are dealing with (Jay C. Thomas,59).
Mark Cuban is seen as very vocal and confident. He believes that by relating well with others, including improving his players’ lives, he can reach his goal of the same being reflected in the game. By sitting with the regular fans, he is fostering the feeling of togetherness rather than that of merely being a team owner. Mark’s personality can be categorized under Surgency if one is using the Big Five Personality Trait Model. He can be described to have an internal locus of control resulting from his heightened confidence that sometimes can be interpreted as arrogance.
