Proper nutrition and diet is very difficult to attain. I listed down my goals in the last few weeks. My first goal was to lower the intake of fast food from three times a week to totally none at all. I tried lessening the amount from three times to two times in the first week. I also tried to make my own snacks so that there would be fewer temptations to resort to fast food. The following week, I lowered my intake to one per week of fast food. I tried my best to resort to healthier options. In the third week, I resorted to only one time of fast food per week. I also improved my grocery shopping list by removing all junk foods. During the last week, I was able to stay out of fast food totally. It helped that I resorted to cooking my own food. Discipline led to the success of my first goal. I was able to stay away from temptation to fast food.
My second goal was to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables on my daily meals. On my first week, I included more vegetable in my meals. I also stick to my goal of cooking more at home and add vegetables in the dishes. I also added more vegetables on my grocery shopping. The following week, I started to pack some fruit in my lunch bag for work. I also made an effort to eat more fruit during the week. I also started increasing my intake to at least 2 servings of fruit and vegetables. During the third week, I tried to implement fruits and vegetable as snacks. I also replaced some juice drinks or soda for v8 drinks or any vegetable drinks made at home. I packed vegetables and dry fruit as snacks for daily intake. During the last week, I attempted to eat three serving of vegetables and fruits. I also drank fruit smoothies made at home. I added some dressing to my vegetable snack in order to improve on my daily intake. Perseverance led to the success of my second goal. I was able to prepare my own food and sustain what I started.
My third goal was to increase my water intake from 24 oz a day to 48oz a day. During my first week, I carried a bottle of water to consumer more of it instead of soda and juices. On the second week, I did drink water instead of soda. I carried water in the car in case I am thirsty and need a drink. I also increased the amount of glasses per day from 3 to 4. During the third week, I drank water with ice so that when the ice melts there will be more water in the glass to drink. I also increased the amount of glasses per day from 4 to 6 per day. I also coupled it with exercise in order to consume water during the activity. I increased the amount of glasses per day from 6 to 7. During the last week, I replaced any drinking liquid to water. I made sure to always fill up my bottle to make sure I am getting close to the 48 oz per day. I increased my intake from 48 oz to 64 oz. Hard work led to success in my third goal. I was able to accomplish it because I withstood all the temptations and I also worked hard to maintain my positive attitude.
In conclusion, all of my action steps were feasible and it could be achieved. I would intensify and add more pressure to my weekly diet plan so I’ll be able to lose more weight and maintain a healthy body. I will also participate in group exercises and free checkups so I can monitor my progress. My future dietary goals are to include vitamins and minerals in my diet. I also plan to enroll in a gym session so that I can build my muscles. This would definitely give more confidence and self-worth to me.
