In working with this particular activity, I got interested on the tasks concerning the insertion of equations, adding hyperlinks to a document, inserting screenshots, and insertion of smartart objects. I choose these particular tasks because I believed that these are important features of words which will help someone working with word a lot.
For businesses, the insertion of equations can be useful when working with proposals or if running a computer shop that accepts encoding jobs from customers. Test questions in mathematics, for example, make use of the insertion of equations and not all encoders know how to insert equations. The insertion of hyperlinks, on the other hand, is very useful for business papers that make use of external files in their document or reports for additional references. It has been a practice for most businesses to provide hyperlinks to resources used in their reports. The other two can be used by businesses for presentation purposes of concepts or to show examples of how things work.
Screenshots of actual results of programs, for example, are very important for documentation purposes so one must know how to capture those screen shots and how to insert them in the document. SmartArts, on the other hand, are very useful id diagrams or organizational structures of businesses are to be well presented. These are also very useful in presenting concepts because it makes them more understandable. Remember the saying that says “a picture is worth a thousand words.” The viewers of a business presentation would probably remember more visual presentation rather than an all-text presentation.
All of these topics I chose could be easily used in my home computer as long as the correct version of MS Word is installed in my home computer.
