Every profession across the globe requires that a professional review practice should be carried out before any training activity commences in the organization. This implies that the same practice is applicable in nursing field as it usually assists the project managers in establishing and developing a competent training method. Information and technology is very essential in the nursing profession since it promotes effective communication process, enhance knowledge, alleviate errors and even supports the decision making process.
In our department, project manager usually carries out a review to evaluate the knowledge, skills and even attitude of the employees before any new information technology strategy is implemented. The project manager explains why such information technology skills are essential when providing healthcare to patient. Additionally, the project manager proceeds to identify vital information which should available in the database in order to support healthcare to patient. The skills learned here will enable the nurses navigate through the electronic health records easily. Therefore, the strategy will enable nurses’ value those technologies that support decision-making process in the clinical field which will enable them eliminate errors and thus enhance effective care coordination (Sylvester, 2009).
The managers should ensure that various teaching strategies are endorsed and embraced in the nursing sector. This will ensure that effective procedures and policies are put into consideration when endorsing new informatics system. Nursing informatics usually entails the people, hardware and software. Nursing field requires internet to enhance their entire practices which enable them provide improved telenursing care. With the use of internet, the department is able to offer its services to people around the globe effectively since it embraces the use newer IT devices. The employer should participate in strategy implementation through availing the training to his employees. This indicates that employer should pay for the entire AACN competencies. The internet is now playing a vital role in ensuring that training process in every profession especially in healthcare industry is appropriate and effective. Despite of the fact that employer may offer to provide assistance; nurses should also play a part in developing their own education and thus enhance professional growth (Think, 2009).
Interoperability may be defined as the ability or capability of diverse information technology systems and even software use in the communication process which enhances data exchange as well as the use of the same data that has been exchanged in health care sector. Example of interoperability may include syntactic and semantic interoperability (Lazakidou, Siassiakos & Ioannou, 2011). A learning object may be viewed as a resource which is usually digital or web-based that is commonly used to support the learning process in healthcare industry. They are commonly used as learning modules in training activities (Sylvester, 2009).
