How are the companies in this business protecting their users from such assaults, and how can these companies improve the security of online classifieds?
Information technology security is important to business organizations operating online platforms (Bailey 30). There are different strategies that companies can protect users from fraud, as well as security and privacy assault. For example, a company can use the SSL-Security Socket Layer that can automatically encrypt information that is exchanged between buyers and sellers. While this approach is capable of protecting the information during it movement through the Web, it does not provide adequate protection for information once it is decrypted at its destination. Accordingly, the companies should consider changing account names and default passwords that were in place during the installation of the computer system. Furthermore, a company should not install a software or machine out of the box without conducting a reconfiguration for security reasons. Furthermore, the companies should update the operating systems of their computers. In most instances, signing up for automatic updates plays a crucial role in installing security patches (Bailey 56). Encryption software can also be used for protecting the users’ financial information from assault or theft in the course of their day-to-day transactions.
What are some of the limitations or dangers you see in the use of AI technologies such as expert systems, virtual reality, and intelligent agents? What could be done to minimize such effects?
The primary goal of artificial intelligence is to develop computer functions that are associated with the mental and physical capabilities of humans. Examples include software that are capable of learning, reasoning, and solving problems or robots that can talk, hear, see, and move. The limitations of AI, such as virtual reality, expert systems, and intelligence agents, include their lack of common sense, limited creative response, and inability to explain the reasoning or logic behind their decisions (Bailey 89). In the case of virtual reality, it is relatively difficult to achieve high-fidelity experience due to technical limitations on image resolutions and the processing power. AI applications also remain limited in scope and face the threat of becoming out-dated due to the ever-changing business environments. The effects of AI limitations are minimized through human supervision, review, and monitoring to ensure that AI systems to don make obvious mistakes.
