- What is the rationale for establishing the change leadership team?
The main rationale for establishing the change leadership is to facilitate and foster the change process. The change leadership team drives the change process as it unfolds, and the team gives a direction to the change process by the team. Change leadership team takes the initiative and drive it to a successful conclusion through the joint effort of every person in the organization. This team does share the burden of executing the major changes and coordinate efficiently to make the change successful. This is to say that, change is not a small process as it consists of lots of many things. This will be very difficult for a single person to accomplish so a strong and well-defined team consisting of alliance of right and qualified person forms a change leadership team, which drives the change process to the justified destination.
- Why is it so difficult for the CEO to implement a major change initiative working alone?
For the first reason, the change is a huge process that will have an impact on the overall process of the organization. Saying truly, the very first reason that CEO alone cannot implement major change is that no one in the organization have the authority or power to change the whole organization alone and unless the employees feel their participation and benefit from the change, they are not going to accept the change. In such case, they resist the change, and they do not support the change. Therefore, CEO cannot implement the change alone if the employees and stakeholders do not support him/her, the CEO is going to face the resistance from stakeholders.
- Can a major change be accomplished without the CEO? Explain your answer
It is not possible for a major change to be accomplished without a CEO. One of the success criteria for successful change implementation is “support and commitment from top managers”. Unless the CEO is not going to accept the change or do not see that the change is going to benefit the overall organization, he/she is not going to commit the resources for the change process and process without resource will never going to reach the destination.
- Can standing committees implement major change initiatives? Explain
Committees in the organization will not have a mandatory role in the organization; however, in most cases they only have recommendatory roles. Even though they serve for several purposes in the organization, they lack the power and authority to implement major change in the organization as they only have recommendatory roles.
- Who should serve on the change leadership team and Why?
Change leadership team is a combination or alliance of highly qualified personnel who are required or who play the imperative role in the successful implementation and execution of the change process. Therefore, strong and well-defined team consisting of an alliance of right and qualified person forms a change leadership team, which drives the change process to the justified destination. Change leadership team must consist of peoples form contrasting functions and departments to generate unique synergies.
