McDonald organization uses the hierarchical structure in making an organizational chart. The company has the Chief Executive officer as the head who doubles as a Vice-chairperson of the company’s board of trustees. Under the Chief Executive officer, there are presidents of different departments in the company (Narapareddy 2009). The organizational structure given is not a complete hierarchical structure because the company has many sections with a number of responsible people. The organizational chart that indicates the position of the person and the duties performed represents the company information in the best way. McDonald’s chart shows the position of an individual in the company and arranges all the people with the same power in the company at the same level. The current organizational chart is suitable for the company, but it needs adjustments to include other key members in the company.
An organizational strategy is the key element for the prosperity of the company. Properly formulated strategies enable the company to perform its functions better and improve on it income. The McDonald company has four groups of the executive officers in the company, and all of them are responsible in running the company. The highest level in the chart has the Chief Executive officer of the company who is also the Vice-chairperson of the company. The main objective of the Chief Executive officer is to ensure that the company delivers the best services to its clients in all its departments (Narapareddy 2009). The chief executive officer spells out ways in which the company will use to deliver best services to the customers. Communication of the objective to the other levels in the hierarchy must be well written and documented. The second level has Vice executive officers who head different departments in the company; this group must have an objective that complements the objective of the chief executive officer. In this case, each must have the objective of improving the operations of the department headed to reach the requirements necessary in delivering the best services. Since the company uses a hierarchical method all the objectives of the groups in the company follows in order and complements each other.
The third group consists of the regional heads who are responsible for having an objective that fits the different departments of the company. The objective of this group will be to manage the region and enable the company to expand and deliver its goods and services with ease. The regional heads represent the company in the regional front and manage the region’s activities without involving the head office. The fourth group is the divisional heads who are the presidents of regions and take part in fulfilling the objective of the top management. The objective of the division president is to ensure that people receive the best services from the company in the division (Narapareddy 2009).
In conclusion, the hierarchical method of organizational structure enables the company to reach its main objective set by the chief executive officer. Every level sets out an objective that complements the main objective set by the chief executive officer for the company to reach its objectives. The scope of applying the strategy and attaining the objective narrows going down the hierarchy and makes the objective achievable. Therefore, the companies strategies must be arranged to be in line with the objectives for smooth running of operations.
