Doctors work many hours, and are often on call for emergencies. “This type of job would make it more difficult to plan and spend quality family interaction time”(Talk, 2014). Another job that would be difficult to make time with family is a traveling salesperson. This person would be required to travel for weeks at a time around the country. Family engagement would be hard to come by unless it was online interaction. B). These types of jobs are more likely of men who do not have much time for every day interaction with his family. Women may not pick such a job profession if she was planning on having a family.
There are a lot of employers who frown on employees leaving early to pick up sick kids, or call off because they have no sitter. Businesses would prefer to hire a person that does not have to leave work to take care of family issues. This could impact his career because his boss may let him go for leaving as much as he does for his kids. A boss would want an employee who is productive, dependable, and reliable. The person’s career can be tainted with the remarks of his previous employers in regards to him leaving often for personal reasons. Other companies may not hire him because of his personal reasons for leaving work. This could affect his career for years and hinder him from getting a good job.
