Good Essay About Academic Integrity

My current understanding of academic integrity is that it is a value which conforms to honesty in undertaking compliance with academic requirements. Likewise, the word integrity encompasses adherence to ethical and moral codes of conduct. Thus, doing what is right and good in the educational setting is what comprises academic integrity.
After viewing the video on Academic Integrity from the Northern Arizona University website, the following responses to the questions are hereby noted:
a) What did you learn about academic integrity through the website?
I learned that most of the students who were interviewed considered academic integrity as synonymous with practices of not cheating, not plagiarizing, nor lying to teachers and other students. Other students revealed their understanding of academic integrity as doing what is right through exerting respective efforts in pursuing their degrees honestly.
b) What did you like about the website?
I liked the way that the website was structured and designed. As seen, aside from the video presentation that stipulated various students’ understanding on academic integrity, the website provides other relevant information on the subject. Students have the option to learn more through other links found on the left side of the home page.
c) What could be improved on the website?
The website could be improved by providing current students with the option to share their respective ideas, comments, and insights through a contact or blogging option. In addition, I recognized that there were insufficient information on the impact of violating policies on academic integrity for Northern Arizona University students. I believe this should also be included to communicate the repercussions or sanctions that could be imposed in cases of violations of this important academic value.
