Early childhood education, particularly in the art subjects, requires a lot of input in ensuring that the children have acquired the intended skills. This essay seeks to examine the effectiveness of a lesson for a Birth-PK practicum classroom.
As a point of departure, the lesson plan intends to use visuals such as small colored bags, pictures, dolls PVC, scarves and dress-up clothing. All these materials are intended to elicit the interest and attention of the children to the study topic of the lesion. Application of representative mode of teaching is effective in imparting knowledge to children of 3 years (Jeanne, Botnarescue, and Machado, 3).
When teaching problem solving aspects, the lesson will achieve its effectiveness if the teaching process is integrated with skills of reasoning which develops alongside language and development of thinking abilities of the children. In this case, manipulative objects and symbols such as sound oriented dolls should be used (Suzanneand Slentz, 7). The effectiveness of the aspect of reasoning and memory will be achieved, because the children will earn to follow the movement of the dolls.
The lesson’s effectiveness will be attributed to the successful learning of the symbol used by the children. By ensuring that the children learn all these skills according to the lesson plan. Then we can say that, the lesson’s effectiveness has been achieved.
In conclusion all the aspcts of a lesson plan which includes the necessary material should be availed to ensure the success of this lesson. In addition, the cultural and religious background of the children should be considered when selecting his material for learning. This will increase the effectiveness.
