A lot of food is wasted in American food stores and according to the movie Dive!, more of this food should be given out to needy people who need it. Water is also considered part of food and on equal measure, just like food, it should not be wasted. Instead, there should be a moderate use of it to avoid wastage. Hone water filters or rain filters offer an efficient way of reducing water. Just like any other food, water needs to be used sparingly because some areas in the US are forced to go through rationing due to reduced water supply. From our class discussion, the Good Samaritan Food Donation Acts requires that is there is a surplus of food, then it should be donated to a nearby food bank, and so is water.
In situations where water acquired or used by citizens comes from natural rain, the rain filters come in handy in reducing wastage. Rain water in the current populated environment exists with a lot of impurities and germs and before consuming the water, some people end up boiling the water. To reduce wastage, cost of boiling, cost of fuel as well as the cost of maintaining boiled water which is often expensive, it is better to use these type of filters. Therefore, purchasing of the rain filters will be cost efficient due to specified reasons. In the process of marketing, a SWOT analysis focuses on the advantages of a product that the marketing department can focus on. The first advantage of rain filters is that it does not require electricity or any power to run on. Additionally, in plight to reduce food wastage, home filters regulate the level of water one uses. One would never regret with the home water filters because its advantages and uses are long-term.
