Today one can barely find a person who has not heard about Google Company, the largest multinational technology company in the world that offers Internet-related services. This company is known for many products, such as Google Search, Google Adwords, Chrome, Gmail, GDrive, Google Maps and many other tools and applications. In addition, Google Company is known for its originality and innovations. The company positions itself as the company that operates in the innovations market, and this is the reason why most efforts are put on fostering the innovation process. Company encourages its employees to come up with new ideas starting from the ones that make the lives of customers easier to the ones that can change the way we live today. The company’s growth is based on the success of the services it offers, and the reason why the services are so popular is that Google’s mission is to innovate many new things and introduce new technologies. The company’s success is also based on the company’s flexibility, leverage, corporate strategy, etc. Google’s mission is to change our world, and the company is moving towards completing its mission by developing new powerful technologies that already change the ways we live today.
It can happen that there are more people who used the words “googled” or “google it” than people with access to Internet. Google company has change the way how Internet users work in the web. The company exists for less than 20 years, but it has become a leader in Internet-based technologies and one of the largest companies in the world. The secret is that it is one of the most innovative and original companies in the world.
The outmost attention Google pays to the innovation process. People working at Google are encouraged to spend time at something that interests them, and as result, now we use many services that were created by innovators at Google. Google Company lets employees spend 20% of their time at work on something that is of a particular interest to an employee of a certain group of workers, but it has to be company-related (Mediratta, 2007). This is how many great ideas turned into popular applications and tools that we use on a daily basis. By encouraging engineers to spend 20% of time on developing new ideas and projects, Google motivates its employees to work effectively and invests in great innovative products.
Also, the company’s success is built on its originality. The company has a totally unique and original organizational culture, and this is one of the reasons why the company is considered to be among the top companies in the world in the list of the best employers. Google offers free food, gyms, on-site child care and other benefits to its employees, and this originality in treating employees is one of fundamental keys to the company’s success.
Google’s corporate strategy is mainly based on great corporate culture of the company, but it is also built on effective governance and building a great reputation. Governance is based on the management of Larry Page and Sergey Brin as they own more than 50% of the company’s voting shares, and they can do basically anything they want with the ways the company works. And sometimes it is hard to say what is the company’s corporate strategy as they regularly change directions of their work and close services that brought many customers. However, Google claimed that those services do not comply with the Google’s requirements on its own products and services. Thus, it is hard to say what are the standpoints that the company’s corporate strategy for this year, but it is clear that the company focuses its corporate strategy on people working in the company and the process of creating new projects by letting employees have some room for thought and innovations as they always have time for that, and it reflects on the company’s success in future.
Probably, Google is one of the most technological companies in the world. Google uses and develops all recent technologies and invests in creating future technologies. One of the best examples can be the Google Self-Driving project. Google is going to launch production of sensors and software development, so the cars will drive themselves without crashing into other cars or pedestrians, and such cars will be even more safe to drive than traditional cars (Google.com, n.d.). Google also invests in projects that belong to other companies and works together with the companies to develop and launch those projects.
Google’s entrepreneurial strategy is built on innovations. Employees develop projects, but they face the same difficulties that the start-ups do as projects have to compete for funding and other resources. Again, the company’s entrepreneurial strategy is based on innovations and encouraging employees to do the best they can to innovate useful technologies that can change our world.
Google’s competitive advantage is its well-developed infrastructure as it has many data centers in different countries and they continue to expand. They search for talented and smart people and hire them, so the best ideas go the Google company. The company positions itself as an innovation company and Google employees call the industry the company operates in as the innovation industry. They position their company as the one that is changing the world by developing new technologies. Another advantage is that Google is very flexible as it can shut down some projects that had millions of users and move to the new projects that the company considers to be more innovative. And one more advantate is that Google is a corporation and it uses borrowed money from its shareholders to invest into innovations, so they have access to billions of dollars that they spend on new technologies, and this is one of the reasons why their services and technologies are so effective and useful.
