On the one hand some of the animals look exactly into the camera lens and it seems as if they know how to pose for nice photos. On the other hand some of the animals do not look into the camera at all or even show their backs. It gives the impression that animals do not like additional attention and to be in the zoo at all. As if they are too tired of their everyday activities. To my mind some of the photos show that some of the animals have to little place for them in the zoo. But such animals as elephant, tiger, and lion have enough of it, I believe, even with a small pond. The worst impression made on me the photo with the tortoise from Los-Angeles 2002. It lies in such a way as if it were dead. Really the photo shows the tortoise to be tortured in the zoo. The same is with babirusa from Tampa 1998 which looks dead as well. Also there is not a good example of a photo which shows gorilla from Toledo 1998 where there is no greenery at all, only bricks.
In general the photos are really nice and the animals look greatly. But personally I do not like zoos. I think that animals should live in natural environment. They have their needs which cannot be satisfied by people.
Second Task: Video
First of all the narrator tells us that we are expecting great changes on the Earth: the atmosphere is changing, the water level is changing, so that many other species are going to appear or disappear. He says that cows produce a lot of greenhouse gases, even more than all transport in the world. That is because cows produce a lot of methane. By the way the use of water for domestic needs is only 5% and the use of water for agriculture is 55%. And actually the problem with greenhouse gas emissions is the same. The emissions of it of the all transport are only 13%, and the same of the animal agriculture is 51%. It is really awful. That is why animal take great part in changing the climate.
Besides, the animals have constantly been killing by people. Every day some species decreasing there is overfishing. By the way rainforests are also destructed every day but they give oxygen though nobody thinks about it. Moreover, in order to feed only the USA, it is necessary to have grasslands everywhere in South and North America, and Canada. But of course it is impossible to feed the whole world with such calculations because in other case everywhere should be only grasslands. Also I was shocked to find out that animal agriculture is the most powerful on the planet. I really love animals and do not want them to be used for the food. It is sad for me. But as it was said the real problem of this popularity is in human overpopulation. Only imagine that in 1812 it was only 1 billion of people on the planet and in 2012 there are 7 billions of people. Of course, it is too much. It is even not double larger. And now we can make the conclusion that because of human overpopulation we have so many animals to feed them. These animals eat and drink a lot of food and water. Of course this number of animals will produce a lot of methane and greenhouse gas. But it appears that the real problem is not in animals, but in people who eat animals, not vegetables or fruits. Maybe we need to reconsider our priorities in order not to damage ourselves?
