Climate is changing rapidly. Credible international scientific evidence affirms the fact that the global climate is changing as a result of excessive human activities by depletion of natural resources. This global warming needs to be reduced at the earliest by implementing regulations and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; otherwise the global temperature will continue to increase by approximately 3 degrees Celsius over the next century (IPCC, 2007). In my opinion, pollution is one of the biggest causes of global warming. It is not possible that the pollution has nothing to do with global warming or the depletion of the ozone layer. Though the long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars, as Mars has no ozone protection, it cannot be saved. However because Earth does have ozone protection, if pollution levels are controlled and ozone depletion is prevented, then it is possible that the impact of global warming can be reduced.
The text does not agree to what I believe and state in my arguments above. It states that, "Alarm rather than genuine scientific curiosity it appears, is essential to maintain funding" (Bethell, n.d.).
