It is evident from his story when Maitre Hauchecorne is accused of stealing the wallet. He views the society as a place where if you are poor and accused no one will believe in your innocence. At his time is according to his views it is evident that many people suffered as if they were guilty even though they were very innocent.
He thinks of the human nature as the one that can easily be convinced to think otherwise and do harm to another person even before closely analyzing the situation. The Necklace
The Necklace or rather The Diamond Necklace is one of the short stories by Guy De Maupassant that has broken the odds through its feature of being dramatized as a musical Irish. The story talks of a woman, Madam Loisel, who is married to a clerk who works in the ministry of Education. These two live in a relatively medium class home where the lady feels to in a sort of imprisonment to poverty. The author uses his unfathomable skills to bring out the woman obsession with living a much more comfy life than the living her husband was earning. As of nature’s best fate, she is married to a man who has a golden heart and who toils hard to assure the presence of a dish on their table.
Unfortunately, the lady’s lofty ego does not allow her a twinkle to think of their future settlements with her husband but she only concentrates on her looks and buying everyone’s attention; she even goes to an extent of borrowing a diamond necklace that she later lost in the party, from Madame Forestier who led it to her. On the other hand, it is quit contradictory to the fact that her husband who had saved some money to buy a gun is convinced to lead her money to buy a dress for just one diner. Later in story this couple is forced to pay dearly for the fake diamond as they had used all their savings. The author intends to reveal how self-centred and cunning the human beings can get. Madame Forestier charges a relatively enormous amount of 3600 Francs as compared to the actual cost of the necklace of 500 Francs.
My uncle jules
“My uncle Jules is a story written by Guy who talks about how about a poor family. The family at the beginning is poor and at the end of the story, the family status changes after the marriage of the narrator’s sisters. The narrator compares their family with a poor man who begged them for money and the companion gave the beggar five francs.
Guy views the society as having negative motives about poor people in the society. He talks about the how people view the society view the poor people. They view the poor as if they are not part of the society. Here the author views the poor people as always stressed in life and the family do not have peace in their houses. The narrator talks about how their mother used to talk in harsh words to their father. The narrator also talks about how their father used to have a lot of stress as they g to church. Their father talks about Uncles Jules every now and then. He sees uncle Jules as the only solution to their problems. He says that if uncle Jules returns from America their lives would change. The society views the poor society as if it is not worth to be in that society. This is seen when the narrator’s daughter have reached marriageable age but nobody is ready to marry them as they come from the poor family.
The piece of string is a story, which talks about how the society engages in their daily businesses. The narrator gives the differences on how the rich and the poor engage in businesses. The society views the rich people as the only ones who are able to dominate the market. The author says during the market day the wealth men with could seen dominating and giving poor prices to the nomads over their animals. The author views that even the poor should be allowed to take part in businesses of the society.
Conclusion
Guy’s stories lead to the conclusion that the poor have no place in the society. This can be explained from the fact that they are ignored, charged with wrongs they didn’t do and are overcharged on things they do not have a mare clue about. In other perspevtives, the poor are not recognized until they gain wealth in different stories where only those that have reached a certain level of living in the society have the say.
