A role model is an individual whose success and ways towards their success can be emulated greatly by others as a means of motivation. A role model can also be a person that other individual’s look up to for motivation in life such as parents and teachers. The individual has the following qualities in order to qualify as a role model; passion and capability inspire others in his or her field of success. Also, they have a clear set of principles, dedicated to community, selflessness and acceptance of others regardless of their abilities. Lastly, an individual should trounce obstacles is also important. Hence, a leader is one who inspires others to emulate them on leadership fields (Elliot, 32).
A good example of a leadership model is the late Steve jobs, the American capitalist, investor, marketer, and co-founder of Apple. He was perceived to put as a very high ranked perfectionist, who was determined to put his product at the forefront in the market. He motivated his workers by use of aggression and treats such as the increment of salaries and commissions on their sales (Elliot, 67). Jobs' mean esthetic was prejudiced by the modernist architectural style of Joseph Eichler and the industrial design of Brauns Dieter Rams. Steve jobs are also a great role model for leaders since he beat the odds that a young man as he was he could make it. The leaders should learn how to trust the young in their innovations and ideas and invest to create more profits, and advanced services. He also shows that a leader should accept help from others since employed 421 executives and senior leaders.
We need to reframe the query than bearing in mind either leaders' interpersonal influence or their aptitude to address substantive organizational issues. Another role model is Jordan Belfort, a man who created a million dollar by selling penny stocks to the richest men in the movie, Wolf of Wall Street. From this movie, several keys to management are learned such as the creation of a vision towards the perfection of leadership. The creation of status management through clarity, certainty, and courage towards workers and the work itself are also important. The break of limiting beliefs that make the managers and the company itself set unnecessary confines (Belfort, 22). The leader should employ a strategy and implement them, which will lead to motivation of employers. Front-runners can also learn that they should greatly reduce the expenses and usage of profits and increase their resources. Though his downfall was drastic due to his behaviors is also a lesson for leaders not to shudder the profits uselessly. Hence, leaders should be ready to admit to their mistakes and correction and not repeat them again. "Success at creating wealth has a formula, a system of rules," says Belfort. Belfort also explains the ingredients for salesmanship, such as charisma, key to persuasion and essence of entrepreneurship (Belfort, 25).
Steve jobs and Jordan Belfort are role models, who have greatly influenced the management faculties in the current companies all over the world. Their influence on leadership is evident with their success. Like humans, leaders are also not perfect such that both Steve jobs and Jordan Belfort made mistakes, but as role models they learned from those mistakes and never to repeat them again.
