A marketing information system is a scheme that analyses and assesses materials obtained both from within and outside a firm. Appropriate marketing system provides a platform for decisions that can be useful in product development, packaging, distribution, promotion and selection of media. Understanding the role of marketing systems requires a comprehensive study of the needs of managers and the top management. Systems can be a valuable tool in the development of business and help in the achievement of the objectives stipulated in the business. The kind of decisions made and challenges of the decisions are also a crucial thing in pointing out the roles that a marketing system plays.
Clinical data is important in helping to deliver quality services in all health care facilities globally. According to Beratarbide and Kelsey (2011), data gathered through the market information systems provides an insight of the type of services that are appropriate for all the customers and patients. There are six dimensions of good health care; safe, competent, operative, patient-centered, appropriate and timely. Management information helps in understanding the nature of the various aspects. The importance of the schemes is to bridge the difference between data collected and existing information in the books.
Beratarbide & Kelsey (2011) further argues that data about the environmental, social and biomedical factors further help in administration of proper health care to the patients. Information systems offer an opportunity to coordinate information contained in the databases. Any emerging issues in health care delivery and decisions enhance data sharing across all the health care facilities. There is a presentation of standardized health care which makes it easier for assessment of similar health care in hospitals. Moreover, performance in hospitals and healthcare date is carried out in a more transparent way. Transparency promotes honesty and improves the performance in the medical care institutions.
