2004 Presidential Ads
John Kerry International Man of Mystery was an advertisement taken out by the Republican Party against the Democratic nominee John Kerry in the 2004 Presidential elections. The advertisement focused on the idea that John Kerry is a man of mystery and makes claims without providing facts and his source. The advertisement was successful in communicating an essential message about John Kerry’s personality in a satirical tone that many American related.
Old Tricks was an advertisement taken out by the Democratic Party against the Republican Presidential Candidate and the incumbent American President George W. Bush. The advertisement focused on highlighting the untrustworthy nature of George Bush, especially with his inability to give importance to relevant issues such as veteran affairs. Overall, The John Kerry International Man of Mystery was a highly effective as the GOP worked hard of creating a mysterious image of John Kerry and the ad targeted John Kerry’s inability cite sources (The Living Room N.pag).
2012 Presidential Ads
This is a clear choice was an advertisement taken out by then the Democratic Party for their Presidential nominee and Incumbent President, Barak Obama. The advertisement utilized the help of former President of the United States Bill Clinton, who supported the efforts of Barak Obama on building innovative means to produce jobs and investing in education as the means to drive the country towards full employment. Give me a break was an advertisement taken out by the Republican Party for their Presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The advertisement highlighted the failures of the Presidency of Barak Obama through his failures to generate enough jobs for the American public post-recession. The advertisement also added a previous message from Bill Clinton given in 2008 where the proposals of Obama were categorized with a message by Clinton – Give me a break. The Obama advertisement was better that the Republican ad because they talked about the positives of Obama Presidency by utilizing the popular former President Clinton and included President Barak Obama in the ad, whereas the Romney ad was complicated and directed insult at the Democratic Party without sharing a video of Romney on the advertisement (The living Room N.pag).
