Summary
As we know, nowadays managing projects becomes more difficult with each passing year: the number of tasks increases, the staff expands and more software appears. In this case, special web-based packages become very useful in project management. Let’s analyze one of such programs.
AceProject is the name of the project tracking software. It aims to manage tasks, timesheets, different documents and expenses. This software is cloud-based and it is available in any popular browser – Google Chrome, Mozilla, Internet Explorer and Safari (Aceproject.com, 2016). AceProject has been developed twelve years ago. Nowadays, more than two million projects have been completed by users with AceProject. This product is known in more than fifty countries and continues to develop.
The target audience of AceProject is quite different. It can be small companies in IT field as well as big corporations with large IT departments. The common goal of clients is to manage projects effectively, especially, if the large team work on it. The main functions of AceProject are: to assign, review and monitor tasks, to track budgets, expenses, billable time and invoicing, to save documents and create reports, and analyze current stage of project execution (Bahny, 2013).
The main principles of AceProject are the uniqueness, efficiency and affordability. Usability of AceProject was changed several times in order to achieve all customer requirements and suggestions for improvement. The main sections in the account space include:
dashboard; it is an informative tool for analyzing the whole business processes and project implementation;
tasks section; it is possible to add tasks, questions or offers, to assign users and monitor the timeliness of their implementation;
tracking time and expenses system; such system is very useful to work with clients remotely, given their time zone;
section of documents: creating, saving, sharing and other actions with all required files;
additional services (such as statistics, mailbox, client base and others).
In my opinion, the main advantages of AceProject are the following:
availability from everywhere via Internet. AceProject is available in any browsers and it is presented as an application for Apple iOs, Windows and Android platforms (for smartphones and tablets) (Clancy, 2012).
flexible price offers. There are five price packages, including free one. For example, the free account package provides quite big opportunities for users: 2 projects, 50 tasks, up to 5 users and 250 Mb of storage space (Santos, 2015). This is enough or freelancers, startups and even small companies.
customer design of account: it is possible to change some settings the way user wants.
powerful features for senior management as well as for ordinal employee.
transparency of all processes, good visualization via dashboard.
AceProject can be a great assistant in my work needs, especially, for teamwork and multitasking projects. AceProject is a universal solution with understandable and customer-oriented design. It is cheaper than other similar products (for example, Basecamp or Zoho) (Freedman, 2016). It should be noted, that customer support is available day and night and is free for all clients without reference to their chosen rice package.
Conclusion
In conclusion one can say that nowadays project management software offers great opportunities for different fields. Such products as AceProject can simplify the work of senior management. Using AceProject, teamwork and project implementation become more clear and effective, and as a result, more profitable for companies.
