According to Rene Descartes book Meditations, clearly discuses the six meditation processes in which Descartes discards all the things that are not absolutely certain in view that brings the concept of what can be known for sure to be true and realistic. The meditations contain his metaphysical system in expanding the system.
In one of his meditations, he describes human beings as a thing dose thing. This clearly brings the concept that human beings as other things clearly exist and God poses the power of producing all the things. This is based on the faculty of imagination that a human being has in which enables one to critically think and make rational solutions concerning the issues that affects his/her environmental set up. The thing dose thing clearly highlights that a human mind consists of an application of the cognitive faculty (facultas cognoscitiva). This clearly defines the existence of a human being and the influence that one poses on the immediate environment that they definitely occupy.
In this view, Descartes believes that a human mind definitely thinks and differentiates the fallacies things and memories that once ever existed in the mind of an individual. In this view, the notion of figure, motion, extension and body are perfectly matched in the context that is controlled by the mind of a person. Hence, in this view he expounds the thought of thing dose thing by expanding on the concept that one sleeps and dreams on the concepts that affect their daily activities. This is a clear reflection that highlights that there is a difference between the nature of insanity and painted representations that affects a person’s activities on a daily view.
On the concept of who or what, am I? This clearly defines that a human being is a body effectively made and with a mind to critically think and expounds on the rational concepts and thoughts affecting their immediate environment. This helps them to think on the solution to the presented problems brought before them by clearly defining the problems and fix the best-chosen and thought solution to the problem. In relation to deep way of thinking as a human being, he expands that I think, therefore I am (Cogito ergo sum). In this view, he clearly illustrates that the concept cannot be doubted in the general view that free will is effectively self-evident.
This highlights that an individual is perfectly born with one’s character and their nature makes them perfect in possessing their traits diverse from any other human being. This view is clearly reflected in the concept that human beings definitely pose various views and notions concerning various mentalities that affect their immediate environment. This highlights that human beings are not equal but diverse in the way they handle concepts and think.
In conclusion the philosophy of who I am is clearly answered by the concept ‘I think therefore I am'. This is relation to the concept that individuals tend to differ in different opinions that to them is known to be uncertain. This is in reflection to the view that they are not subject to doubt.
Hence, the topic of rationality in thought and critical thinking in the human phenomenon comes out clearly and is supported by the fact that a human rational thought clearly evaluates the various concepts before making a decision.
