Many American women tend today to believe that woman are in danger, prolonging the idea that they are victims of men, who constantly hunt them in order to fulfill their sexual needs. Camille Paglia, in her essay Rape: A Bigger Danger Than Feminists Know, reveals the truth about the rape issues, that was hidden under the thin layers of lies about sex, that has destroyed many lives of young women who did not know the truth about sex. Paglia did a brilliant job as her essay is full of examples and she clearly develops the main idea, using the comparison- contrast method. The author states that “Women will always be in sexual danger” ( Paglia, 394). The author tries to send the message, that the feminists movement hid the facts from the young girls, who were the victims mainly of those feminist ideas, which declared the superiority over the men. They kept ignoring the facts, that the things which usually drive the men to attack and rape women are minimalized to such simple things as women’s behavior and the way they dress. In fact, women drive men crazy because of their short skirts and inappropriate behavior. They do not understand that they provoke the men as they believe that women send them signals that they want to have some sexual contact. Common sense seems to dictate that the men must not be blamed in such cases, as men by their nature are hunters, and women must be careful with them to avoid any kind of danger. Women should be aware, that the feminist society will not help in such cases and eventually will not be able to protect them, that is why women should consider the risks before provoking men.
