Frederick Taylor in his Scientific Management Theory anticipates today’s running of business in various organizations. I totally conquer with his line of thinking. For high quality productivity and reduced conflict within the workplace, time management, self-efficiency and continuous training of employees should be adopted. When employees are provided with the right tools at the right time and at the right place, quality productivity will be realized (Taylor 2007).
Communication is power. Lack of communication cause misunderstandings, for example, Make- A- Wish America Foundation is experiencing increase in organizational mistakes, low morale and high turnover. This is due to misunderstanding involving leaders at various departments. Power corrupts. Leaders tend to punish their subordinate by making decisions that affect subordinates without informing them. Management should focus on the missions and main objectives. Long term strategies should be put in place rather than pressurizing and intimidating subordinate staff. Failure to build good communication system causes misunderstanding between staff and management. A lot of challenges are encountered when rebuilding trust and keeping staff focused to their main mission. The consequences results to discontent in the workplace due to misplaced mission.
Concerning autonomy, upper management resolve to monitoring its’ supervisors and staff, this arouses mistrust hence high overturn. Rebuilding trust proves to be a major challenge to the leadership. Opportunity growth decrease due to lack of promotions and additional responsibilities. High turnover poses a challenge elevating employees despite available opportunities.
Lack of recognition for individual efforts and contributions kills the morale of employees completely. Implementing programs that initiate motivation and rewarding employees is a major challenge to management.
Extrinsic factor also affects organizations’ well being. Lack of interpersonal relation among employees in workplace leads to low morale, this paralyzes social events. Stopping employees from leaving the organization for greener pastures is a major challenge to management.
Unfriendly environment results from gossips and low morale among the staff. This results to favoritism and job discontent. This creates isolated departments. The major challenge is motivating and encouraging employees to work effectively.
