Story of Jesus
“And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am? They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again. He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.” (Luke 9:18-20 NVKJ Bible)
Early Years of Jesus.
Early years of Jesus Christ were full of persecution. We do know that while the Angels were singing Hymns to the honor of Baby child, and the same time devil had already influenced Herod with evil in his heart. We do know that Jesus Christ was born by virgin Marry in Bethlehem in the barn (Luke 2:7), and shepherds were informed by Angels that Messiah was born. Also we do know that Jesus Christ was born somewhere in the 5th year BC, we can say that because Herod (persecutor), died in 4 BC. Also we do know that Magi visited Jesus couple months after he was born, and even if we usually picture this meeting in the barn the Bible says “And when they were come into the house” (Matthew 3:11). And let’s take a look what was gifts for the Holy Babe? “they presented unto him gifts; gold and frankincense and myrrh” (Matthew 3:11). “We can see rich symbolism in all three gifts. Precious gold suggests royalty, for Jesus was the King of Jews. The incense reminds us of Christs deity. Incense was regularly used in connection with worship at the temple. Myrrh symbolizes Jesus humanity and pointed to his suffering and deathIt (myrrh) also served as a kind of anesthetic when mixed with wine” (Albrecht’s, The peoples Bible 27). We also know that before Joseph, Marry and Jesus went to Nazareth, they were waiting in Egypt, for Herod to die. After Herod death, they safely returned to Nazareth where “the child grew and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and grace of God was upon him” (Luke 2:29), later Luke in same chapter will show us one more story where Jesus had conversation with professors while being a child (he was 12 years old) in the temple. His answer to the parent why he was here instead of going home he answered “wist ye not that I must be about my Fathers business?” (Luke 3:49), and we are ending his early years with the words “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man”.
His Inauguration:
The inauguration of Christ takes are one of the fundamental meaning for every Christian. We do know that Jesus that day had visited John the Baptist to be baptized. Why would the God be baptized? John was unable to understand that either, but this was the plan of God, and as we all know, plans of God sometimes can be really hard for our understandings. So after Jesus came to John, he asked to baptize him, and John is surely shocked, because he does know that Jesus have no sin, and he does know that he is Messiah. Bit God wanted this to be done, because he (God Father), had earlier send prophet Isaiah with words “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him”. After that was done “Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He[c] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”So the God made one more advert for human beings, that he had send his lovely son as he had promised. Therefore, the inauguration was deed, and the prophecy came true.
Jesus temptations.
Jesus was tempted by the devil. Even though the devil knew, that Jesus is true God. That’s interesting part because here we can see how arrogant devil is. Long time ago he inserted sin in to the hearts of humanity, and now he is thinking that he will be able to do the same thing with true God. But as he failed to rebel against God on the heavens and he “was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[b] the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10) Satan still “walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). And he doesn’t want to miss a chance to seduce God even though he had no chances, but Jesus had allowed that so we would see that devil has no power over him. Interesting thing is about parallels between first temptation of Adam and Eve and first thing that devil tried to tell to Jesus “command that these stones become bread “ first temptations were started from invention to make/eat some kind of food. Devil is playing again with human feelings about food, but even though that Jesus had no food for 40 days, Christ rejects this offer from the devil. Because while being in the desert, Jesus had full support from God Father, and devil was trying to make Jesus feeling doubt, that God is supporting Jesus. The second thing is when devil takes him to the roof of Jerusalem chapel (and as we know the highest point of that temple were somewhere around 450 feet high), to tempt Jesus jump from there by words “He shall give His angels charge over you” (Matthew 4:6), but Jesus answered to him not to tempt God. Jesus had resistant to arrogance that devil were trying to influence on him. And the last temptation was about worshiping the devil, and as a reward he will give to Jesus all the mighty of the world. Many fools were caught in the claws of the devil because of this promise. But Jesus rejects this because only to God we can worship, and also we do know that Jesus have “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:16).
We might don’t know detailed story of Jesus Christ, but as a true believers we do know that his story on the Earth were full of sacrifice, mercy, and true wisdom. We do know that he is True God, and True man who died for our sins, so we can find salvation. And this is certain truth.
