Photographs by Struth appear to be trying to show visually what cannot be captured in a photograph. This is because the entire system of his work is mostly captured in the whole system of a society as manifested in areas such as in the streets, car parks, buildings, sidewalks among others. In most of his photos, nobody is usually shown and one could easily say that there is nothing happening in those photos (2015). Struth does not obey the modernist notion that a photographer is a hunter who is heroic in the wilderness of constant flux with the ability to predict and capture every moment that is considered decisive.
On the other hand, Stephen Shore style of photography is that in which he takes pictures of the ordinary things that people see daily and recognizes that it is possible to have it photographed (Objektiv, 2016). The intention in this style is to have the image convey a natural feeling. His work appear to be highly observant and the way in which the execution is done comes out as poetic. Shore is famous for being a pioneer of coloring technique. His style of work poses a challenge on how our perception is mediated by photography
In conclusion, the two photographers have years of experience and the style of photography that they offer is quite unique since they both arouse some type of feeling depending on the context. Shore will bring out natural feeling by showing images of everyday events while Struth will bring some images of places that have a sentimental value. With these combined, the theme of the show will be complete since their work complement each other
