The Issues
The Asian Americans are groups of the Asians that inhabit the United States of America. Critical issues are affecting the group. The issues may be considered adverse about how the minority groups live in America. One of the significant problems that the group faces includes lack of political access and limitation of minority rights. The issue is related to the political representation of the Asian Americans as well as the minimal rights they face as minorities within the United States of America (Lin and Scherz 13). For instance, there are no policies that exist to protect the interest of the group within the country. Moreover, the group has a poorestablishment in the U.S. which implies that they have limited access to the political offices. The inability to effectively speak English is another factor that has made them to appear as underrepresented in the voting aspects and other interaction issues within the country.
The Origin of the Issues Affecting the Asian Americans
The gain of political access and minority rights issues affecting the group has a significant history that can be traced from the time of the immigration. The history of the issues affecting the minorities is based on the increasing access to the United States. For instance, it is implied that the Asian Americans are not citizens of America. Additionally, they never applied for the citizenship of the country. That idea makes them vulnerable to all the possible attacks within the United States. Therefore, the group have limited influence in the American system. Their position as the citizens of America has caused the limited access to political power and minority rights that are intended to execute justice on the individuals.
The other origin of the issue is based on the time frame issues affecting the group. For instance, it is implied that the Asian Americans are considered as recent immigrants in the United States (Lin and Scherz 17). They have not had ultimate settlement and establishment in the country. Moreover, their establishment may not define their ability to gain political access. They are underrepresented in the political scope because the amount of time they have spent in the country may not guarantee such access to the political schemes. For instance, the groups that immigrated to the United States earlier established themselves politically to achieve their intended goals. The scenario is opposed to the case of Asian Americans who lack strong political establishments.
The discrimination and the negative view of the Asian Americans is also another reason that influenced the rising of such issues (Lin and Scherz 21). For instance, the view that the group is accepting and quite are critical issues that may have led to the inferiority and the non-consideration of the Asian Americans in both the political settings and policy making matter. Furthermore, they may be silent and having incapability to air their voices through American voting systems. Such conditions may nullify their positive influences in terms of political access and policy making activities.
The issues became outstanding based on the study and the influences of Asian Americans and how well they may respond to issues affecting them. Currently, there are significant activities and influences that are being embraced concerning the positions of minority groups in America and how well they may be perceived as vulnerable in the faces of political systems and policy making factors. The pointing out of the United States racist immigration policies may also be considered as significant elements that led to the rise of access to government issues as well as the inferiority in relating to policy making.
The Importance of Addressing and Solving the Issues
Addressing the issues of minority rights and access to political power is a critical approach in restoring a balanced society. For instance, there is a sense of equality and importance of every life as stated in the constitution. Moreover, achieving a political and equality balance in the United States would imply a positive view in the international system. A political system and its policies are judged based on the ability to cater for the influences of all groups within the country. The addressing and resolving the issue would imply a positive image about the country in the international system.
Addressing and resolving the issue would enhance the representative of the political system. Moreover, the peace and acceptability of foreign and local citizens in a country are critical issues that may help in attaining the ability of a country to embrace diversity. Diversity is an issue of interest in the current situation. Diversity defines the flexibility of a given system and its ability to embrace different groups with minimal prejudice. Addressing these issues would encourage positivity and enlightenment in the administrative system of the involved country. Addressing this issue would also restore peace to the country since it is considered a source of division among the minorities and the controlling government.
Addressing and resolving the issue would solve the international relationship that the country has with other countries. Moreover, the international view of the America as a superpower nation is a major factor to consider in how well they relate with other countries. Addressing this issue would create a chance for change that the hosting country may adopt in dealing with such critical issues (Kim 134). Access to public facilities and resources is a critical issue that should be considered for both minorities and other members of the society. Access to public facilities is a key aspect of demonstrating equity.
Solutions for Dealing with the Issues
There may be both short term and long term solutions that may be applied in dealing with the issues of political access and minority rights. One of the solutions may include the development of peaceful demonstration by the minority group that is affected by the issues. Obtaining a more elaborate way of hearing out the persons involved in issues is a major solution. For example, a forum should be created for the minorities to air their views concerning the political establishments and success (Kim 140). Moreover, some long term solutions may include the amendment of the constitution to cater for the rights of the minorities. The idea would make the country more accommodating as compared to the previous times.
The Pros and Cons in Resolving the Issues
There are benefits and demerits involved in dealing with the issues facing the Asian American immigrants. One of the advantages may include the existence of equality and positive view of the country in the international relations platform. It ensures that the country would have a positive view of equity and equality in the eyes of other nations (Kim 130). Moreover, it may attract talented skills and personalities within the political and non-political frontiers. It also promotes peaceful coexistence within the country with minimal clashes.
However, there may be some disadvantages attached to offering solution to the issues. One of the major disadvantages includes the increased spending on the Asian American immigrants. Moreover, providing the minority rights would imply that they have a higher advantage towards the access to resources of the country. Another demerit would include attracting more illegal immigrants within the United States. The relaxed policies would mean that other immigrants would view the receiving country as more accommodating.
The Impacts of Non-Resolution
Based on the issues involved with the Asian Americans, they would be impacted most if the issues are not resolved. For instance, their stay within the United States would be affected if their issues are not properly addressed. Moreover, they would face difficulties such as discrimination and other aspects that may hinder their progress both economically and even politically within the country. Access to basic amenities would also be reduced based on the prejudice views that would be directed towards their concerns.
The results of non-resolution of the issues may include discrimination, inequality in terms of access to resources, and poor international relations. To continually get information on the issues that affect the Asian-Americans, I would engage in intensive research meant to ensure that issues are mentioned. Moreover, having access to the forums by the Asian Americans is a significant strategy for gaining information about their position. Additionally, access to current news on minorities would help in attaining a clear picture of what is happening to their issues.
