I scored an eight on economic values, which signifies a critical weakness. Based on Allport’s perspective, such a score indicates that I do not place a high value on the most meaningful and important issues. Theoretical value was the nest subsequent test value. In this aspect, I scored a seven, which also implies that I have limited theoretical values (Liewellyn and Holt 39). It shows that I am somehow averse to discovering the truth. With a score of 12, it is apparent that I have strong aesthetic values. Inferring from Allport’s perspective, I attach a high value on form and harmony. It also illustrates my belief that life is comprised of a series of events, which have to be enjoyed. Based on the text by Liewellyn and Holt, an individual should be concerned about such an attribute because of the notion that such a lifestyle might cause me stress, financial challenges, or illnesses (Liewellyn and Holt 56). Furthermore, the test results showed that I have strong social values (12), which necessarily mean that I am motivated to seek out the love of people. In the words of Liewellyn and Holt, it is perceptible that I will do anything to make and maintain my friends. As Liewellyn and Holt suggest, given my social values, I am suited for careers such as teaching and nursing. I can also serve as a mentor (Liewellyn and Holt 25). I scored poorly on the political values test. With a score of seven, it meant that power is not a dominant drive for me. The ultimate test item was on religion. On this regard, I had a score of sixteen, which clearly indicates that I had extremely strong religious values. Therefore, based on Allport’s theory, I am a person who values unity. Moreover, determined to comprehend and experience the world as a united whole. As a personal reflection, I tend to think that the test is a good indicator of one’s values. The test results reflected my personality relatively well (Liewellyn and Holt 45).
