Effective Conflict Resolution I had a conflict with my brother over the type of Television channel we had to watch. An argument arose between us as every one of us wanted his channel of choice to end up watched. I had preferred watching CNN while my brother preferred BBC. The conflict disrupted the good relationship between my brother and I. In most cases, we could argue on how our channels of choice superseded the other. The conflict brought tension even to the entire family calling for the involvement of our parents in bringing out the resolution. Our parents demanded an interchangeably watching of CNN and BBC so that each one of us could feel satisfied. According guidelines depicted from by Tim Scudder interview watched over YouTube, the conflict between my brother and I turned out not resolved. Peaceful relationship between us in the course of changing to another channel ended up interfered because one of us felt unsatisfied (Renee, 2011) The conflict ended up not handled effectively because my brother and I ended up not involved in reaching out to a resolution. Our parents used an authoritative means of ordering us to watch from the two television channels interchangeably at intervals. According to Tim Scudder interview by Renee (2011) resolution in a conflicting situation resolution usually fails out of failure to involve the views from either side of the conflicting parties. For effective resolution to the conflict between my brother and I regarding channels preferences, we would have analyzed and evaluated the conflict in getting to understand the causes, effects and how to cope with it. An analysis will thus lead to a satisfactory resolution between the two of us in a peaceful manner.Barriers to organizational development I believe that the organizational development is so difficult because of the changes in the organizational internal and external environment. Failure to change in accordance with the underlying forces leads to ineffective organizational development. Changing laws that govern the production of consumer products has turned out as a major setback in most of the organizations today. Consumers shift their demands depending on the effectiveness and efficiency of the services and products offered. Organizational development depends on successful meeting of the customers’ needs (Kreps, 2011). Some organizations fail by sticking on the set production, usually and distribution mechanisms that do not offer effectiveness and efficiency when meeting the demands of clients. The best way of attaining competence is by winning many consumers. The barrier that I have experienced as an employee is ineffective communication. The manner in which information flows in the organization is ineffective. Poor communication leads to misconceptions and delay in taking the actions for change. The barrier of ineffective communication is posing a challenge to the organizations as it has led to conflicts amongst workers. Kreps (2011) argued that when communication is not effective in the organizations it poses the challenge of failure in implementing the newly proposed policies and decisions by some employees hence conflicting situations. In overcoming the barrier of ineffective communication, I would innovate effective communication techniques to all stakeholders by the use of technological knowhow. Instead of using paperwork in communicating, I will propose the creation of a website so that individuals could log in to get updated about diverse organizational aspects.
