Recently, a conflict among two employees came to light and it highlighted the need to have positive work relations. Positive employee relations are the backbone of effective operations of our company and it is important that organizational conflict does not have a long lasting impact on the operation of the business. Positive employee relations are essential for our business as they help in:
Increasing Productivity
One of the most obvious advantages of having positive employee relations is the increase in productivity. Positive employee relations would help in developing pleasant workplace environment, which would motivate employees to work harder. Productivity is increased by the increase in motivation among employees and sharp increase in the morale. Our organizations will be investing in employee relations as it is considered as a source of increasing productivity at the workplace. Increased productivity is a goal of our management as they are keen on increasing their business’s output and revenue. The management wants to avoid any more conflicts and ensure productivity is enhanced at the workplace, and they see positive workplace relations as an essential source of achieving these goals (O’Brien, 2014).
Employee Loyalty
Retaining our best employees is another important goal of our management. This goal can be achieved with positive workplace relations among employees. When employees operate in a pleasant and productive workplace, it improves the chances of business to retain employees. Employees embrace loyalty when they feel their workplace is the best lace they can work at and positive workplace relations can help in developing such work environment. Loyal workforce can help our business to retain our employees for long term and reducing the cost of recruiting, training and developing employees. Our management believes that the cost of investing in employee relations programs is a better idea that investing in spending on employee turnover. Employees remaining loyal would help the management to invest in their training and development and ensuring that they are up to speed with the latest changes in the industry (O’Brien, 2014).
Conflict Reduction
Having positive employee relations would also ensure that our company would face limited or rare cases of conflict in coming future. Implementing employee relations programs would help in making sure that the programs in place would limit the potential for future conflicts.
Reduced conflicts at the workplace would mean that employees would be able to concentrate better on their work and productivity at the workplace would increase. Conflict has led our management to focus on improving workplace relations and reducing conflict is one of the primal aims of the program. The organization seeks better relations as it would ensure that even if there are conflicts in the future, there are means to protect the organization and reduce the damage from the conflict (O’Brien, 2014).
Boost Profitability
Positive workplace relations help in boosting profitability at the workplace as employees feel better about working in a productive and pleasant workplace. Our management feels that developing a better workplace for employees would ensure that the current output levels would be boosted and profitability our operations would increase. Increased profitability ensures that positive mood is developed among our organization’s employees and they feel that their work is helping the company grow. The goal of implementing employee relations programs is to ensure that employees relate better to the organization and their co-workers to work harder and help the company achieve their goals (University of Pittsburgh, 2016).
