Biography of Eve Egoyan
Eve Egoyan is a world acknowledged pianist. She engages in performing the music of contrasts, from Alvin Curran, Ann Southam, to Erik Satie, and Michael Finnissy. Her music is characterized as illuminating, authentic, and fearless. She is the concert pianist, who performs works of contemporary composers. Her sound command of the instrument and programming skills gave rise to very successful interpretations. Egoyan works only with living composers. Those composers highly value her performance, also internationally.
Eve Egoyan performed the premieres by many international composers. The most famous of them are Maria de Alvear, Erik Satie, Piers Hellawell, José Evangelista, Juliet Palmer, and Ann Southam. She is awarded a Chalmers Arts Fellowship for her continuous endeavor to music. Besides, the pianist actively participates in dance and film projects. She is well known in Canada, Europe, Japan, and the U.S. As a successful musician, she has nine discs. Her two discs won “Top Classical Disc of the Year” (2011), and “Ten Top” (2009). Her recent disk “5”got four stars by the Toronto Star. The disk includes world premieres.
The solo pianist travels every month, and often performs abroad. Those tours bring her closer to audiences. Egoyan’s outstanding performance and hard work often receives commissions for new musical pieces. She studied music in Canada and Europe. Her first music concert came live in 1994.
She was honored from the Canada Council. Eve Egoyan also received a prestigious K.M. Hunter Award, a Chalmers Award, and “CMC Ambassador” nomination.
