Good Essay On Food Stories Cookbook

Team #2 enjoyed making Spaetzle and most of all working together to learn of each others' culture through food. The Food Stories Cookbook is the result of an idea that we discussed about how different we are. The diversity was found to be very interesting as we began working together.
Diversity in the world is important and so we thought that working together would be a way to bridge the differences between us. Team Two consisted of a German girl, an American, and myself a girls from Saudi Arabia. Coming into the project, the assumption was that this group working together would be too difficult to accomplish the goals.
However, people from different countries can work together quite well. We began by talking. We spoke about each other, what our background was like, and in the end what it would be like to work on a team. We talked about problems that we were anticipating, as well as, fears that we shared.
The result was amazing. From getting to know each other we discovered strengths and weaknesses that we possessed and devised a plan which each chose contributions that were suitable to their talents. As a family we began to divide the tasks needed to accomplish a cooking project.
One girl was to cook, one to clean and take pictures, and the other was to document the process and recipe used. It was funny because the food that we decided to produce was not accepted the first time it was discussed. As more conversation went on and we felt comfortable with each other the idea seemed the most representative of a food that was similar to one that we each had in our culture but with a different twist.
This project was amazing and the result was that three girls from different cultures not only cooked together and shared their cultures but became lifelong friends.
