Within the spread of scientific-and-technological advance a certain society itself begins to increase its social development in varied domains. Hence, the amount of various questions also increases very promptly sowing the seeds of discord among people. Consequently, one of such current questions is regarded to be globalisation.
Nowadays globalisation is considered to be newly appeared as well as controversial question or point of dispute among varied academicians, scholars, researchers, policymakers and general public as well. Its impact is formidable and profound. Therefore, various scholars started to dedicate their endeavors to more detailed analysis of the impacts of globalisation process on different aspects of society and human everyday life.
Globalisation is considered as an ambiguous term. It covers different sorts of things to different people or to the same person as well. In general, the above-pointed term is regarded as economic one. Nevertheless, one cannot defy its social and political roles.
The term is conceptualized as a process that corrodes national boundaries, integrates economy of a certain society and its culture, technology, governance. Thus, it creates complex relationships of reciprocal independence (Sethy).
Globalisation can be seen in more precise dimensions which comprise “economic globalisation”, “social globalisation” and “political globalisation”. The first one is determined by the flow of goods, capital, services and information as well. The second one is distinguished as the spread if concepts, ideas, images and people, which is covered by cultural proximity, personal contacts as well as information flows. Ultimately, the third one is detected by as the level of spread of government policies, which is defined by a certain number of embassies, commissions, international organizations to which a country is belonged and varied missions a country taken part in (Sapkota).
The process of globalisation is considered as one which provides an ongoing interaction and integration among different strata of people in society, companies and governments of varied countries. The process has a great deal of impacts concerning culture, environment, political system, economic development and human well-being.
Thus, it can be said that it can be seen through the prism of everyday life.
Day-to-day people do a lot of things which have both positive and negative sides and then results. People do not think about the matters they do and even what these things are belonged to. Globalisation itself holds the most unique position among the other ones. On the whole, people do not guess about it or they do not give a due consideration to it.
Globalisation itself is a global trend. It has both advantages and disadvantages which people need to take into consideration. The Internet is regarded to be a substantive contributor to globalisation which covers not only technology but also other areas. Television, radio and global networks are ones which provide people with knowledge of varied things. Cell phones and telephones give an opportunity to connect people from different parts of the world. It is a feasible for people of different countries, communities, cultures as well as religious to know and then understand each other in varied circumstances. Being widely understood by others are very significant for setting and promoting common values among people of different nations. The process of globalisation makes it possible for people to express their emotions and feelings, to demonstrate condolence or sympathy in spite of religions, lands, colors, languages and cultures.
There must be mentioned disadvantages as well. Globalisation obtrudes danger to mass media being managed by huge corporations. This can cause some limitations of the cultural expressions. Thus, mass media can be used by varied corporations to pose risks to cultural heritage of nations. With growing number of people moving into and out of a certain country, the culture stays in the background. People tend to adapt to another foreign culture. Therefore, it can cause cultural conflicts.
In general, there are a lot of advantages and disadvantages which will not disappear at all. Society needs to recognize how to reap its preferences and decrease risks. Its impact is global, and people must cooperate to rectify the problems that may appear in the future.
