A leader is a person with influence towards a group of people and influences them in the attainment of a certain object. The person in a leadership position attracts respect from the followers. Anyone that desires to lead must demonstrate that through setting an example so that the group can be motivated to follow him. A person that aspires in the leadership position must have a deep-rooted commitment towards the achievement of a goal even when nobody follows him. The leader must have personal vision stipulated to the followers to ensure all move in a common direction at the start of the journey. A person in leadership position realizes that one cannot achieve the goal alone, and this leads to the person eliciting help from a group of people. People in leadership position face a daunting task of recruiting followers and the integration of the firm’s goal with the followers’ personal goals. A leader must communicate the goal to ensure the followers embrace the goal to become a common goal. Leaders must observe a realistic and practical view by using a visionary language. The person in the leadership position has vision, commitment and the appropriate skills to make it happen. The person should not focus his or her attention to a single-minded determination. The goal of the team emanates from the leader’s dream in the idea of solving problems. What make leaders different is the steps that they take to achieve their vision. A true leader has the strength, perseverance, and tenacity to move forward amidst problems.

Currently am not the leader of the team since I am new in this environment. I am an international student and being in a new environment, and I want to learn the culture of American society before establishing myself as a leader. During my studies in Saudi Arabia, I have engaged in different projects and assignments that have helped me in the development of team working and interpersonal skills. The business administration course that I undertook integrates many disciplines of business to enlarge my career options. I have engaged with experts in the field of accounting especially in difficult times that have provided me with an opportunity to diversify my skills as I collaborate with like-minded professionals.
It is good to have open and honest communication with the team to develop trust and confidence with each other. Trust enables work ethic on projects to root out the weaknesses. Working in a team with honest communication will develop a timeline where all the members will be on the same track to ensure they meet the deadline. The key to success in the team is to ensure that everyone is a team player. A leader must assign tasks in a way all the team feel they contribute towards the achievement of the goal.
Any team can implement cooperative learning to direct students to finish their work early. An effective cooperative learning has the following group processing tasks rather than individuals, division of labor, assigning of specific roles, development of social skills, division of labor, and provision of group rewards.
