I will love to learn about the earlier business experiences of my colleges and it will be interesting to share our thoughts on business situations. Answer 2: In my undergraduate course we were given the task of coming up with an innovative product and creating an advertising plan for it. My team decided on a unique bed mattress; the mattress would be comfortable, ergonomic and would make slight movements that would ensure that kids and grownups get a deep and uninterrupted sleep. Work related stress leads to disturbed and inadequate sleep causing many health disorders. To ensure proper sleep the mattress would vibrate in between and would make soothing rocking movements. The mattress would be a boon for mothers; they can put more than one kid to sleep on the same bed. The mattress also had a music option; it had some calming songs meant to improve the quality of sleep. The low maintenance and sturdy matters was priced competitively to ensure initial sales. We launched an advertising campaign on radio and in magazines to evaluate responses; people were excited and curious to experience the mattress. I designed the advertisement and headed the marketing campaigns; I went to home decor malls and even some hospitals to give presentation on our product. Some doctors requested me to provide them with sample mattresses; they were keen on using it for their patients. It was interesting to answer customer queries at malls. One visitor suggested we make special size mattresses for crèches and play areas; the kids would love listening to their favourite rhymes on rocking mattresses. I had to research deeply about the available mattresses in the market; I had to work out the price considering the initial cost involved. The mattress could relieve back pain as it also offered a vibrating heating option; I had to seek the opinions of some orthopaedics and physical trainers while including the above features. The launch was encouraging but later the distribution department needed improvisations. Overall it was very educating as we got first hand real and practical experience of turning ideas into business.
Answer 3: I am passionate about practicing Yoga. It the most effective and progressive exercise; it has become a way of life for me. There are similar meditative forms in my home country; but Yoga has helped me in physical and mental emancipation. Students have to face a lot of stress as education is very competitive; yoga has taught me to work on my performance level considering my abilities. It promotes healthy comparison as it works from within; by opening the energy points in our body. Fifteen minutes of meditation made me realise the outcomes of my daily actions; the headstand posture refreshes the brain and helps in innovative proactive thoughts. I have devised some special set of exercises for students and working professionals; it is effective, can be done anywhere and takes just five minutes. A set of simple breathing exercises along with some neck and arm stretches will help in reenergising the body. I can teach these life changing postures to my peers; it is fun to work out as a team. Yoga makes an individual respect his/her body; once we start channelizing our energies properly, our life is filled with positivity. I would like institutes to introduce Yoga classes in their curriculum as it would lead to healthier people and minds. Given an opportunity I would make “Yogic Living” a part of important business seminars and discussions. Weekly meditation camps in class would relax students and teachers and will equip them with a broad and free thought process.
I am passionate about sharing my experiences with Yoga with my batch mates and professors. I hope that people realise that our body is the centre and hub of energy; we just need to redirect it.
