Inferential Statistics
The study seeks to assess whether there is a difference in the speed of new iPhones and old iPhones that use newest Banana software. The independent variable is the type of iPhone and the dependent variable is the iPhone speed. The specific research question is as follows;
Is there a difference in the speed of new iPhones and old iPhones that use newest Banana software?
The null and alternate hypotheses will be as follows:
Null Hypothesis: There is no significant difference in the speed of new iPhones and old iPhones that use the newest Banana software.
Alternate Hypothesis: There is a significant difference in the speed of new iPhones and old iPhones that use the newest Banana software.
Sample and Data Collection
Data was collected from a sample of ten iPhones; five new iPhones and five old iPhones. The speed that it takes to open a webpage was recorded in seconds. The data was recorded in MS Excel.
Data Analysis
A two sample t-test was used to test the hypothesis at 95% confidence interval. Data analysis was performed with MS Excel. The data analysis is as follows:
The t-statistic was -15.8592 with a p-value of 0.0001. The p-value is less than 0.05. Therefore, we reject the null. The analysis shows that there is a significant difference in the iPhone speed for the old ones and the new one when using the latest Banana software. Therefore, the is a need to factor in the hardware capabilities of old iPhones while designing the software.
