Race refers to the similarities by a particular group of people in the sense that they may be people who share the same language, similar customs, have the same skin color or possess other similar physical features. However, different races have faced criticisms for various reasons such as their religious affiliation as well as their cultures. As such, this paper seeks to focus on the major criticisms that have been experienced by all the races.
Secondly, the physical environment has an influence on all races. One’s racial affiliation affects their way of doing things. Factors that stem from the physical environment are like geography, flora, geology and the climate of a place (Mackee, 48). For instance, it is taken that the people who come from the South generally have a slow movement. Another environmental aspect is such as the colonization process that was undergone by almost all races. This criticism maintains that all races are not loyal to their ways and can easily be changed by the environment. For instance, after the colonization of the African Americans and especially those who were slaves, they adopted characters and ways that were alien. They began to emulate the Whites who had colonized them and even their behavior codes changed.
Finally, all races have been criticized because they strongly hold onto culture even if such cultural practices are harmful to them and those around them (Olson, 90). For a start, the whites practiced the culture of taking other communities for slave trade and they also frequently engaged in wars. The whites also engaged in the practice of making dangerous firearms. They were involved in this practice despite the fact that they lost many of their men in war. On the other hand, the blacks maintained the culture of strongly holding onto myths especially the stories told to them by their ancestors. Usually, most of these myths were not beneficial to them yet they still held on to them. People’s religious affiliation is part of their culture and it is for this reason that the races are criticized for allowing their religion to prevent from looking at situations objectively.
Generally, the racial issue has sparked a lot of controversy from different spheres of the world. This is mainly because of certain differences that exist in all the races. However, there are certain issues that affect all the races and this has led to their criticism. For instance, the different genetics possessed by all the races as well as their physical environment influence people’s mannerisms regardless of their social standing. The cultures of all the races sometimes prevent them from thinking rationally and hence the reason for criticizing all the races.
