The fact remains that over the years the world has been experiencing energy shortage as a result of the ever increasing energy consumption every year (Moshfegh 4058). However, wind energy has never occurred to me to be a feasible source of energy that could be harnessed to reduce the deficit in as far as global energy requirement is concerned. It is interesting to discover how the technology in wind energy generation has advanced over the years resulting in increased wind power output. To me this implies that there is still a lot of potential in wind energy production. It is due to this that I have come to strongly believe that wind energy is a feasible alternative source of energy.
Wind energy appears to come with many advantages which make it a good source of energy. Wind energy is very clean as it does not pollute the environment owing to the fact that it does not require burning of fossil fuels. It is also renewable, easy to install, secure and cost effective in terms of operation and maintenance (Alternative Energy news.info 1).
The wind energy has shown significant growth over the years with major companies investing a lot in the business. Many wind products have been produced ranging from large wind power generation plants to small wind installations for domestic use. Compared to several decades ago when wind output was between 50-100KW, the current wind power plants can reach power outputs of 2.5MW and more. The recent innovations in the design of wind power generation equipment has resulted in smaller, mobile, more efficient, state of art components, that can produce much more power at lower heights as compared to previous designs(Ogin Inc. 1).
It is clear that the wind energy industry provides many opportunities for those interested in the energy generation business. Research and development is a key area for investment in order to be able to penetrate the energy market with more ease through creation of better and more efficient products.
In conclusion, it is undoubtedly clear that wind energy is a feasible alternative source of energy. It has many advantages as a source of energy and there is potential for good returns on investing in the industry. Through extensive research and development, wind power generation is sure to be very successful in filling the global energy deficit.
