Introduction to subject:
The events that unfolded on September 11th 2001 were a form of physically demonstrated attacks yet they changed America in number of ways. These events changed the overall dynamics of American society. Their impact fell upon the political sphere, social outlook of America, economic prosperity, psychological balance nay it caused a damage of all sorts.
Thesis statement:
Attacks launched on twin towers, yet the outcome impacted multiple societies, cultures and countries.
Transportation means security was beefed up, domestic and internationally connecting airports were brought under the scanner of security. Transport Security Act was enforced (Villemez & Mortada, 2011). On psychological front, it led to the fears in the minds of the American citizens. Terms that were never heard by the Americans before became a part of routine life expression. Human suffering comes as the first form of causality of any similar offensive. This offensive was no exception and over four thousand people lost their lives in these attacks and they were people from different nationalities working in the private spheres of their own lives.
On social front, the attacks patched the American society into multiple factions. Local descendents started hating the immigrants from different countries giving rise to ill will and animosity towards other communities. Since American society was depictive of multi lingual and multi cultural outlook, it had an array of people in its streets and towns who were not welcomed any more.
The divide between the Muslims from across the world and native Americans (mostly Christians) came to forth as a result of the September 11th attacks. With element of hatred for the Muslims in the American society; more specifically the Arab community within America. Since then many events and incidents of racial discrimination, bias and injustice have come to forth, all as a result and consequence of the post September 11th atmosphere.
On economic front the events and the subsequent war has led to catastrophe of unmatched precedence .Approximately 70 billion dollars are eaten up by the homeland security for ensuring security within (Wessel,2011). All the money that has been invested and consumed in offensive against the alleged perpetrators could have been spent on human welfare, science and research, health, technology and many other domains where massive shortage of investment is needed.
The attacks changed the priorities of the American government. Since then billions are being spent on the security insurance and making the streets, towns and cities of United states of America safer. All this comes at a time when America along with the rest of the world is inflicted with the worse kind of financial crisis, environmental concerns, health hazards, need for scientific quests and many other social decays and discrepancies that stand impeding the way of progress of the world as a unified community.
Conclusion:
These events were an unwanted episode, least expected. They changed the overall outlook of the American society and being the super power and an accumulative society, its heat was felt in other parts of the world. It not only suffocated life of Americans but others living in the country as well as those aspiring to be part of the country that is termed as the free land and land of opportunities.
