Rock and Roll concerts are always my favorite. They tend to be enjoyable and that’s why, possibly I was among the first people to buy tickets for the summer fest performance by the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. It is always a tradition between my friends and me to attend such events due to the excitement and energy brought about by such concerts. Furthermore, the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is among my favorite bands.
The concert began with a rock and roll overture such that it aligned with the mood set by the Summerfest. The performance began at top notch as the electric guitar, drum sets and the piano were in line with the vocalists. The performance intensified as it proceeded such that the audience was screaming and singing along. The texture of the pace depicted a fugue-like type of appearances especially when the electric guitars and the piano were played. The instruments appeared to be succeeding each other until it reached a point of unison. I recall a moment in which there was a minute intermission by the head soloist which was followed by a soft melody from one of the electric guitars that was played for almost fifteen minutes. Then, as the volume increased, other instruments were incorporated until they reached a point of unison.
The concert introduced me to the different types of styles depicted in rock and roll especially with regards to the composition. The dialogue initiated by the soloists and the introduction of the songs brought an innuendo of the music such that the songs kept playing in my head after the concert. Furthermore, the quality of the lyrics and the melody depicted by the band were emblematic and epic. It can be perceived that the organization and the presentation of the performance was what made it a success in addition to displaying Rock and Roll music at its best.
