Dear family of the non-deceased and friends, thank you for joining me as I memorialize one of the most wonderful and unique people in the world, my dearest and best friend, __________. I have read that a person can accept no greater honor than giving the eulogy at a funeral. Therefore I have given myself this honor, because I really love honors. And I can tell you this is an overwhelming honor.
_________ was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 21, 1994. Everyone in the hospital could tell that here was a baby who was destined to do great things in his life. He graduated from Red Mountain High School in May, 202. Before this untimely eulogy he was attending Mesa Community College. So short a time to make a mark on the world but he did leave his mark on the world especially on Europe. In his short life he visited six European countries; Switzerland, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. His travels in the Americas included trips to Costa Rica and to Mexico. His mother lives in Cancun, Mexico. His father lives in Mesa, Arizona. So you can understand why he was drawn to Europe, he was looking for some cool weather. His nieces and nephews will miss their fun-loving uncle. How will his best friends remember him? Which of his accomplishments did they envy the most? That was the time he was in Costa Rica and had the delightful experience of making-out with a stripper.
Not only was __________ a great traveler he was a great capitalist, lusting after money even as a child. When he was a young boy he organized a geode museum in his room so he could sell tickets and give people a chance to visit a Geode Museum. I remember the tickets cost 50 cents each, but his mother refused to allow strangers to come into the house. His drive to make money and his work ethic was not dampened though. He prepared himself well to do great things in the world. For example he spoke two languages. _________ gained valuable work experience at Cici’s Pizza. He developed a character strong enough to handle pain and discomfort. He survived an attack by one hundred mosquitoes. He survived an attack by his pet Labrador when he was in Second Grade; and he can show you the scar under his left eye to prove it. He was a strong and muscular athlete due to his hobby of skateboarding for eight years. He was also on the track team during high school.
What has the world lost? I will tell you the world has lost a leader, a leader who cared about his family, the community and the environment. _____ cared about the whole world. His volunteer work was an example of how his future ambitions would have developed. He volunteered to take care of vulnerable people and his community. He volunteered to feed the homeless, clean up Papago Park and work on the labor crew at the Museum of Natural History. The world has lost a great worker and a teacher who would not force anyone to learn by bullying them. Instead he would have used humor to share his knowledge about caring and about the geological history of the world.
_________ planned to transfer to Arizona State University after graduating from Mesa Community College. He would have been a great student and athlete at ASU. People would have noticed his leadership qualities right away. His experience during his high school
senior year of making a presentation in English while intoxicated demonstrated the great potential he had as an ASU student ________. The geology department would have won some great research projects and lots of awards with _______ studying and working in their department. He would have been successful at anything he chose to do because of his work ethic and compassion. Probably the greatest loss is to America and the loss of a future President of the United States who would have made our country and our world a better place to live.
