Lee Iacocca has been chosen because is one of the few leaders in the world’s history who have managed convert companies on the verge of collapse to some of the most successful organization. Moreover, he achieved exemplary performance wherever he worked. During his tenor as the president of Ford Motor Company, Ford became one the most successful automobile companies. Even after being fired from Ford, he did not give up but was employed Chrysler where he managed to turned an ailing company into one of a very successful automobile entity.

This essay looks into Iacocca’s achievements as leader. He was a very successful president of Ford Motor Company and also Chrysler. Although he faced many challenges, he did not give up, rather he pressed on be one of the greatest leaders in history. Some of his leadership qualities include charisma, creativity and willingness to listen and learn from his subordinates.

He was able to grow in ranks from being the company’s engineer to being the president of the company. During his tenor as the president, he was able to come up with Ford Mustang and Lincoln Continental Mark III which played a very important role in the success of Ford Motor Company. When he joined Chrysler, he was able bring forth immense financial success to a company which was on the verge of collapsing (Bowerman, Montgomery and Wart 2010).
3.2 Challenges
Being fired from Ford Motor Company was one of the challenges that he faced in life. He however did not allow this experience to discourage him. He kept pressing on to manage a very successful automobile company, Chrysler.

He was an effective communicator, charismatic, persistent, creative and a leader who was always ready to listen and learn from his subordinates.
