The conflict was between two of my team members who had involved in argument the previous day. This affected our teamwork greatly on that day resulting to loss of progress for the day. The team manager knew nothing about this. The next day I decided to wake up and told the team manager the whole story explaining in detail. I was motivated to speak by the fact that the conflict between them would result to further declining our team’s performance.
After that, I felt a sigh of relief as my silence would have caused further problems to the team. This gave me a sense of satisfaction. With the good ethics installed in me since childhood, I found it easier to speak the truth to the group leader as it was the best thing to do.
The conflict was whether to do an assignment I was assigned by one of the managers but I was not under her supervision. So to me, she was taking advantage to the fact that I am an intern, so she was giving me her assignment to do for her. I decided to the assignment as I saw it rude not to do it as she requested humbly for me to do it. What made me act this way was the fact that she had approached me with kindness. Though at first I felt misused, I saw the best thing would be to do it to avoid any complications and hatred.
Considering I was an intern, my main aim was to gain as much experience as possible. Hence, doing the assignment was the right thing as I gain further experience in another field apart from the one which I was placed. This gave me a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the internship. This is the reason I did not speak up as I found it best to resolve it within myself.
