The various media that brought the news on crashing of the air France flight 358 in Toronto gave it the attention that it deserved. Most of the newspaper said that, it was a miracle nobody lost their lives. In most cases of disaster death is expected at large. All the media that focused on the story provided detailed event that led to the crashing of the plane. The prevailing weather conditions, the speed at its landing and the fact that it landed halfway on the landing lane could have the cause of the accident (McKechnie 2013). The rescue team in this scenario responded very quickly and that is why nobody lost their lives (CBCnews 2005).
Features of the crisis that all my sources focused on are physical danger that the passengers experienced. Despite the presence of the twelve staffs in the plane the accident still occurred. The external support that the passengers got from the emergency unit managed to save lives. There may be lack of clear information on what actually happened. As in the case Federal Transportation Minister Jean Lapierre received information that 200 passengers lost their lives which was not the case (CBCnews 2005).
One article talks of the failures of the airline that could have resulted to the accident. There is no extra 300 metres that should be allowed for instances of overrun (Campion-Smith 2008).. The airport also failed to install an apron of special concrete designed to quickly slow aircraft in cases where they are unable to stop (Campion-Smith 2008).
After reading the entire articles or some of the article the audience can know how to react in cases of emergency. They will understand that for effect of the disaster to be neutralised people need to work together to save those who are involved. The emergency response team should be quick.
