Survivor is a game played with the aim of winning one million U.S. dollars. The game entails vigorous and severe challenges among the players competing either as a team or as individual. In this case, is a summary and analysis of human behavior in Survivor season 29 episodes 06 and 07 where players react differently due to group or individual decision that affects them. There are thirteen players, divided into two tribes, Coyopa and Hunaphu and Jeff is the coordinator of both tribes. The former tribe has six players namely, Dale, Missy, Baylor, Jaclyn, Jon, and Keith. The later tribe has seven members namely, Josh, Reed, Wes, Alec, Jeremy, Julie and lastly Natalie. Some players have their loved ones at the same tribe, different and a few do not have the loved ones with them and that is why a player like Josh called this season “blood and water”.
Jeff made a visit to Hunaphu camp carrying a bag of rice and the tribe will get the rice under some conditions, which is sacrificing comfort for food. Meaning the seven players will endure harsh condition. The decisions for them to exchange comfort did not go well with Jeremy and Julie and thus led to the firefighter to have a negative attitude although he did not show his hunger to teammates. Julie was emotionally carried by emotions and cried because she could not withstand the rains, but Jeremy encouraged her.
The first reaction emerged after an Immunity challenge, where Baylor played for Coyopa while Reed played for Hunaphu. When the later won for his tribe, both players emotionally cried. Baylor’s teammates were hungry and could not be contented because they knew that they did not have any food and their hope for food lay upon Baylor’s sense of touch. It was opposite for Reed has he saved him teammates with food. Natalie volunteered to accompany Baylor to the exile island. This was because she wanted to prove to Missy and her daughter that she is there for them to a point of sacrificing food despite being angry, thus proving a positive attitude. It was at this time that both become close friends than ever before leading to significant alliance strategy after merging. On going back to camps and without food, Keith decided that he will go fishing even though he lose patience as he could not catch any fish.
Teamwork; both tribes showed the spirit of working together at the next challenge, Jeremy could be seen assisting teammates to cross over an obstacle on the way to playing puzzle. Coyopa lost for the second time, even though they were ahead, leading to disappointment and frustration as they know that elimination has to be done that evening at the tribal council. Dale talked to Jon and promise to give him the immunity idol if he is not voted out, even though he had a fake idol. This was a smart strategy to ensure that he remains in the game, but the other players from his tribe thought otherwise. They agreed that three votes will go to Dale, two to Keith, the results came out as planned, and that was the end of Dale.
The next day both tribes merged, and that was the happiest moment for all the players because alliances and strategies were formed. Keith brought a crab and handed over to his son Wes; he acted this way because it was Wes birthday meaning he is a loving and caring father. After merging, Jeremy and Josh differently formed alliances as they felt insecure and could be voted out in the next tribal council and thus showing the character of leaders. Baylor went to her mother for advice because Josh had approached her for an alliance. Missy told her to join Jeremy’s alliance and because the daughter was loyal and respectful to her mother; Baylor concurred. Selfish; Julies’ behavior hungered most of the players; the reason is that she hide trail mix in her bag instead of sharing with other participants. It was due to this behavior that players could not withstand her, even though they took the trail mix from the bag and ate. This shows that Julie was selfish and could not be trusted by the members. In addition, Julie decided to quit because she messed up the players and felt guilt from her behavior.
In conclusion, behavior is caused and affected by individual or group decisions due to their instincts and personality traits and learned through interaction with others. It also affects of behaviors are either positive or negative.
