Nowadays, unfortunately, termination of pregnancy is a common procedure. Women justify their abortions by various reasons: lack of money, lack of support, and so on. However, abortion is a very serious decision, so it is necessary to understand what consequences it brings along.
Arguments against Abortion
There are social, ethical and medical considerations that are against termination of pregnancy. Medical indications are not just words. They have evidence. It is known that an abortion can result in serious complications for the woman and may even lead to the death. Social arguments underline that abortion is a great evil in our society. In many countries, the demographic problem is directly associated with abortion. If we consider ethical arguments, they are based on the equality of human abortion to the murder. Actually, most religions reject abortions. Even from the standpoint of atheistic morality abortion is strongly condemned. Against abortion as a phenomenon citizens of any age, nationality or social status express their opinions. However, the majority of them offer to carry out prevention of abortion, not to forbid them (BBC).
Whether abortion is dangerous for a woman's life? Termination of pregnancy in a medical clinic rarely ends up with a woman's death. Doctors usually have time to help even in the case of serious complications. There is much worse statistics on abortions at home. Such termination takes place in unsanitary conditions and without medical supervision. Every year in different countries dozens of women who decided to make illegal abortion die. Probability of dying is a strong argument against termination of pregnancy. But as practice shows, the majority of women do not believe in the possibility of such an outcome. What can cause the death of a woman? The most common reasons, such as severe bleeding, allergic shock, and infectious complications lead to such consequences. Woman's life is in danger at any form of abortion.
Any kind of termination of pregnancy is dangerous for women's health. Complications can arise even during the procedure itself. Other consequences are sometimes found after a long period of time. The possible implications for reproductive health adjust against abortion. Termination of pregnancy provokes infertility and a miscarriage in the future, violates the menstrual cycle, and causes gynecological diseases. Scraping may cause infertility in 10% of cases. Medicament and mini-abortion have more good indicators, but they also threaten the ability to bear healthy children in the future. Against abortion among adolescents and women who don’t have children yet says the sad statistics. Precisely these groups of women are more likely to first decide to get rid of an unplanned pregnancy, and then treat their infertility for a long period of time. Is the abortion dangerous for the reproductive health of an adult woman? Yes, even in this case the risk is high. Especially it is necessary to avoid repeated abortions, frequent abortions and terminations on the background of gynecological diseases.
The religious and atheistic moralities in general unequivocally condemn an abortion. Against abortion a lot of strong arguments are put forward. Firstly, the unborn child has all the rights of a free person. Secondly, termination of pregnancy is considered as a step against the will of a higher power. At the same time abortions are especially condemned among young people. An unplanned pregnancy of unmarried woman generally causes negative responses. Even a young mother without a stamp in the passport evokes not a lot of sympathy. Thus, the morality of society is not only against abortions but against sexual life outside of marriage in general. It is partly because of the fear of condemnation women hide their pregnancy and decide to terminate the pregnancy. Women who have children and do abortions in the adulthood cause less negative assessments in the community (Mull, Bascom).
In general, it may be concluded that abortion doesn’t lead to something good. To give birth to a child is a God's gift to the woman, and it is not necessary to neglect such possibility. Most women are very sorry about having an abortion some time, because in the future they suffer from the problems or even cannot have children. Therefore, in pregnancy, even if it was not planned, it is necessary to search for the positive side, and do not rush to terminate it. Do you think that abortion will relieve you from the problems? Absolutely not. Everything will happen vice versa.
